- Perform ABO and Rh blood grouping and antibody screening.
- Conduct cross-matching and compatibility testing before blood/component issue.
- Collect, label, process, and store blood and blood components according to approved procedures.
- Perform donor screening and phlebotomy as per institutional protocols.
- Separate and prepare blood components such as packed red cells, plasma, and platelets, where applicable.
- Monitor blood and component storage temperatures and expiry dates.
- Issue blood/components accurately after verifying patient identification, blood group, compatibility, and documentation.
- Perform and document quality control tests on blood components and laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of blood collection, testing, processing, storage, issue, and disposal.
- Handle transfusion reactions promptly and assist with required investigations.
- Follow infection-control, biomedical-waste management, and occupational-safety procedures.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and report malfunctions or calibration requirements.
- Participate in internal quality assurance, audits, inspections, and accreditation activities.
- Maintain adequate stock of reagents, consumables, and blood-bank supplies.
- Follow all applicable hospital policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and donor information.

Qualifications

- Diploma/B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent qualification.




- Additional training/certification in Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine is preferred.
- Valid registration with the relevant professional/regulatory authority, where applicable.

Experience

- 0–2 years of experience for an entry-level position.
- Experience in a hospital blood bank or transfusion medicine laboratory is preferred.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of immunohematology and transfusion practices.
- Proficiency in blood grouping, cross-matching, antibody screening, and component handling.
- Solid attention to detail and patient identification procedures.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency blood requirements.
- Knowledge of laboratory information systems is an advantage.
- Strong commitment to quality, safety, and infection control.
- Ability to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Accuracy of blood grouping and compatibility testing.
- Zero/low rate of identification and documentation errors.
- Compliance with SOPs and quality-control requirements.
- Proper storage and inventory management of blood components.
- Timely response to blood/component requests.
- Compliance with safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Pay: ₹15,332.91 - ₹20,565.38 per month
