Job Overview:
The Property Accountant is responsible for managing and preparing comprehensive financial reports and statements related to property accounting.
This role involves monthly journal entry preparation, bank reconciliations, expense allocations, and maintaining schedules for recurring entries such as insurance, taxes, and depreciation.
The person in this role works closely with internal teams managing property finances and external partners to ensure accurate financial documentation and reporting.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial reports and statements
- Create and upload monthly journal entries
- Perform bank reconciliations and research outstanding cash items
- Maintain schedules for recurring journal entries (insurance, taxes,depreciation/amortization)
- Calculate monthly accruals for contract services and Utility bills
- Record monthly mortgage payments including interest, principal, and escrow
- Security deposit reconciliation and bad debt provisions
- Allocate monthly expenses between different property units
- Review partner interest entries and coordinate postings
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial packages
- Analyze balance sheet and general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness
- Maintain schedule of prepaid commissions
- Post finalized financial reports in document management system
- Training on the organization’s financial accounting system and document management platform
- Templates for monthly financial reports and journal entries
- Checklists for bank reconciliation and expense allocation processes
- Quality assurance standards for financial statement preparation and review
- Documentation on partner interest posting procedures and mortgage payment recording
Qualification:
- M.Com / MBA or CA Intermediate (Pursuing) qualification required
- Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience including article ship
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
