We are looking for an experienced and high-potential manufacturing professional with a strong background in Production / Plant Operations to take on a broader leadership role across plant operations.
The role requires a strong combination of people management, operational execution, analytical thinking, process and systems orientation, ERP knowledge and cross-functional leadership.
Job Responsibilities – AGM Operations
1. Overall Operations
* Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day operations of the plant across Production, PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Dispatch.
* Ensure all operating functions work in coordination towards production, quality, delivery, productivity and safety objectives.
* Monitor plant operational performance through defined KPIs, MIS and structured daily, weekly and monthly reviews.
2. Production
* Ensure effective execution of production plans with focus on productivity, quality, safety and optimum utilisation of manpower and machinery.
* Identify operational bottlenecks and ensure timely resolution of production-related issues.
* Drive shop-floor discipline, 5S and adherence to defined operating practices.
3. Production Planning & Control (PPC)
* Review production planning, scheduling, capacity utilisation and order execution.
* Ensure plans are practical, optimised and aligned with machine capacity, material availability and dispatch priorities.
* Monitor pending orders, plan vs actual performance and deviations, and ensure timely corrective action.
4. Quality
* Ensure adherence to product, process and customer-specific quality requirements.
* Review quality deviations, rejections and customer complaints and ensure effective root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
* Ensure appropriate quality controls, inspection practices, documentation and traceability are consistently followed.
5. Maintenance
* Ensure availability and reliability of plant machinery, cranes, utilities and other critical equipment.
* Review breakdowns,
preventive/autonomous maintenance and recurring equipment problems and ensure timely and permanent corrective actions.
* Ensure availability of critical spares and effective maintenance planning to minimise production disruption.
6. Stores & Dispatch
* Ensure proper material receipt, identification, storage, handling, inventory control and traceability.
* Ensure accurate and timely dispatch, documentation and efficient vehicle movement/turnaround.
* Ensure physical inventory and system inventory remain accurate and properly controlled.
7. People & Operational Leadership
* Lead and develop managers, engineers, supervisors and shop-floor teams across operational functions.
* Establish clear responsibilities, accountability and decision-making authority at different levels.
* Strengthen the second line, improve problem-solving capability and reduce excessive dependency on specific individuals.
* Ensure discipline, effective manpower utilisation and continuity of operations across shifts.
8. Systems, ERP & Process Control
* Establish and strengthen SOPs, processes, operating controls and review mechanisms across operations.
* Ensure consistent adherence to defined practices across shifts and over time.
* Drive ERP discipline, timely transactions and data accuracy and ensure ERP/MIS is effectively used for operational control and decision-making.
9. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
* Identify recurring operational problems, establish root causes and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained.
* Drive improvements in productivity, quality, equipment reliability, material flow, turnaround time and overall operational effectiveness.
* Build a culture of early problem reporting, ownership,
structured problem solving and timely closure.
10. Safety
* Ensure adherence to plant safety procedures, PPE requirements and secure operating/material-handling practices.
* Review operational accidents, incidents and unsafe practices and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
11. Cross-functional Coordination & Management Reporting
* Resolve issues between operational functions and ensure problems do not remain unresolved due to unclear ownership or departmental silos.
* Coordinate with HR, Procurement, IT and other support functions for operational requirements.
* Keep management appropriately informed about operational performance, major deviations, risks, unresolved issues and actions being taken.
Requirements:
* 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, with strong experience in Production / Operations.
* Currently working as a Production Head, Operations Manager, Senior Operations Manager or in an equivalent senior Production / Operations role.
* Experience in a reasonably established and professionally managed manufacturing organisation.
* Strong people-management experience, including managing managers/engineers, supervisors and shop-floor teams.
* Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making ability.
* Good understanding of production planning, execution, productivity and shop-floor management.
* Strong process and systems orientation with practical exposure to ERP, SOPs, KPIs, MIS and structured operational reviews.
* Good cross-functional exposure to PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Dispatch.
* Strong ownership, execution discipline and ability to drive issues through to closure.
* Ability to identify operational gaps, establish/improve processes and drive continuous improvement.
* Good communication and leadership skills with the ability to take on broader plant-level responsibilities.
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
