Role Description The Venture Scout role at 23 Ventures is a remote position focused on identifying, evaluating, and nurturing promising early-stage startups and founders. On a day-to-day basis, the Venture Scout researches emerging markets, trends, and technologies, proactively sources potential startup candidates, and builds relationships with founders and ecosystem partners.

The role includes conducting initial screening calls, assessing product-market fit and traction, preparing concise reports or profiles for the investment team, and recommending startups for participation in the 23 Ventures program.

Scout collaborates with mentors and advisors to track portfolio progress, supports startups with helpful introductions and resources, and contributes insights that refine internal sourcing and evaluation processes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, and supporting founders on their journey from idea to scale.

Qualifications

- Strong sourcing and research capabilities, including market analysis, competitor mapping, and trend identification.
- Experience in startup evaluation, with the ability to assess teams, product-market fit, traction, and growth potential.
- Solid communication and relationship-building skills for engaging founders, investors, and ecosystem partners.
- Analytical and critical-thinking skills for preparing clear written assessments, reports, and recommendations.
- Understanding of early-stage venture dynamics, including fundraising, MVP development, go-to-market strategies, and key SaaS or recurring revenue metrics.
- Ability to work independently in a remote workplace, manage multiple leads and projects, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Prior experience in venture capital, angel investing, startup operations, or accelerator/incubator programs is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience within startup ecosystems.
