Job Purpose The Technology Teacher is a full-time specialist educator within the Department of Digital Learning & Innovation, responsible for delivering ICT, introductory Artificial Intelligence and block-based programming across assigned primary and middle grades, with the added capability to run Robotics sessions in the Innovation Hub / Tech Zone.

The role combines foundational digital literacy and computational thinking with hands-on, physical-computing experiences connecting block-based code to sensors, motors and simple robots so that learners see programming come alive. The teacher is expected to bring strong activity-based pedagogy, comfort with hardware kits, and a structured approach to planning, documentation and assessment.

Grades Handled: Grades 18 as allocated (ICT, AI & Block-Based Programming) | Robotics sessions across assigned grades

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. ICT

- Deliver the ICT curriculum across assigned grades in alignment with the school's digital learning framework and CBSE guidelines.
- Cover digital literacy, keyboarding and productivity tools, internet safety and digital citizenship, and responsible technology use.
- Conduct lab-based practical sessions and maintain class-wise lesson plans, teaching materials and assessment records.

1. Block-Based Programming (Scratch, Code.org, App Inventor, MIT, code.org)

- Teach computational thinking — sequencing, loops, conditionals, events, variables and simple algorithms — through visual, drag-and-drop environments.
- Guide students to build animations, games, interactive stories and simple apps, scaffolded by grade.
- Extend block-based coding to physical computing using platforms such as MIT App Inventor, Code.org, micro:bit MakeCode or Arduino block environments.
- Facilitate Hour of Code and school-level coding events and competitions.

1. Artificial Intelligence (Introductory)

- Introduce AI concepts in an age-appropriate way — what AI is, how machines learn from data, pattern recognition, everyday AI and responsible/ethical use.

- Use hands-on tools such as Teachable Machine, Machine Learning for Kids and AI extensions in Scratch to make concepts experiential.
- Guide straightforward AI mini-projects where students train and test a model and reflect on its behaviour.

1. Robotics (Innovation Hub / Tech Zone)

- Deliver Robotics sessions across assigned grades — mechanical building, sensors, motors, basic circuits and block-based control programming (e.g.mBot, micro:bit, Arduino-based kits).
- Facilitate project-based Robotics learning where students plan, build, program and present robotic solutions.
- Manage, inventory and maintain Robotics kits, tools and lab equipment responsibly, and ensure safe handling by students.
- Support student teams for Robotics competitions and exhibitions.

1. Curriculum Planning & Documentation

- Prepare and submit Lesson Plans and MTP (Mid-Term Planning) documents quarterly by the 30th of March, June, September and December.
- Create and update STP (Short-Term Planning) documents monthly; maintain MTP & STP folders quarterly.
- Prepare and update the Curriculum @ Glance Document yearly by 30th March.
- Submit the Curriculum Conformity Sheet by the 7th of every month and the Monthly Planner by month-end.
- Conduct quarterly Curriculum Reviews and upload class PPTs and teaching resources on Microsoft Teams every Friday.
- Schedule and conduct online classes on Microsoft Teams as and when required, with schedules communicated in advance.

1. Assessment & Student Progress Reporting

- Evaluate and give timely feedback on student assignments submitted through MS Teams monthly.
- Fill the Term 1 & Term 2 Assessment Tracker half-yearly by 31st August and 28th February.

- Enter student results for Term 1 & Term 2 on Edunext/Cuepilot as required (critical task) and coordinate rubric updation with the backend team by 31st August and 28th February.
- Maintain class-wise student progress records and share outcomes with parents during PTMs.
- Identify students needing additional support or enrichment and differentiate instruction accordingly.

1. Attendance, Tracking & Administrative Tasks

- Mark and maintain daily student attendance for Tech Zone / Innovation Hub classes.
- Maintain the Cancelled Classes Tracker, submitted quarterly by the 28th of June, September, December and March.
- Assign computer systems to students and swap Microsoft Teams groups according to class changes half-yearly (March and September 30th).
- Create and maintain the yearly Attendance Sheet as required.

1. Meetings, Professional Development & Collaboration

- Attend the weekly meeting with the HOD and the Team Huddle as scheduled; participate in quarterly reviews with the HOD.
- Undertake quarterly Peer Observation (June, September, December, March 28th).
- Complete a minimum of 25 hours of external professional self-training with certificates each quarter, and update the Professional Development Tracker monthly.
- Collaborate with fellow Tech Zone / Innovation Hub teachers to align curriculum, share resources and co-design learning experiences.

1. Student Engagement, Displays & Social Media

- Update the 'Tech Whiz — Wall of Fame' display board quarterly and submit a domain-specific Social Media Post monthly.
- Plan and support intra-school tech exhibitions, Robotics showcases and coding competitions; encourage participation in inter-school events.

1. Additional & Supervisory Duties
