Core Responsibilities

- Design Frameworks: Select secure building materials like steel, concrete, wood, or masonry, and design the support systemssuch as beams, columns, and foundations.
- Create Blueprints: Draw detailed plans and computer models using specialized software to show how the structure will be built.
- Inspect Buildings: Visit construction sites to check that work matches safety rules and design specs, or examine older buildings to assess damage or plan renovations.
- Collaborate: Work closely with architects, contractors, and city officials to ensure projects meet local building codes and legal standards.
