Role and Responsibilities:

- Monitor and troubleshoot database instances.
n
- Perform root-cause analysis in response to database environment events.
n
- Identify opportunities for improved system performance and process improvements.
n
- Perform code reviews, and assist teams across the organization with query optimization.
n
- Modify and build automated environment installation and setup processes.
n
- Serve as a SME for specific technical topics and team operations.
n
- Architect database high availability and database backup and restore processes.
n
- Review and execute data manipulation scripts created by internal and external team members.
n
- Build external networks to help accomplish team and company objectives.
n
- Contribute to other team efforts as needed to support day-to-day database operations.
n
- Complete infrastructure planning, provisioning, and maintenance tasks to ensure the required resources are available for application functionality
n
- Complete functionality reviews for services and technology that both internal and external teams want to use in the database environment.
n
- Create and drive project solutions that are consistent with stated objectives and guidelines.
n
- Provide guidance to other DBAs on technology topics.
n
- Recommend recent technologies and processes that can be used to manage database environments.
n
- Participate in production support on-call rotation to triage and resolve critical issues outside of business hours.
n

- 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator working with SQL Server 2017 or higher.
n
- 3+ years of experience configuring and maintaining AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
n
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or another related field, or equivalent.

experience in IT related fields.

- Strong knowledge of cloud computing computing concepts and infrastructure management.
n
- Expert knowledge of common database administration tasks such as backup & restore, integrity checks, disaster recovery, and security.
n
- Proven experience in performance tuning concepts.
n
- Prior experience supporting database and application development teams.
n
- Thorough knowledge reading and writing complex SQL scripts.
n
- General knowledge reading and writing Powershell or other scripting technologies.
n
- The ability to solve complex problems independently using analysis and research.
n
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical input both internally and externally.
n
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
n
- Experience working in a PCI/SOX, or other compliance regulated environment.
n
- General knowledge of at least one other database technology.
n
- Ability to work on-call rotation.
n

- Masters degree in technology, engineering or related field

- General knowledge of PostgreSQL
n
- AWS RDSAurora PostgreSQL experience
