About BookMyPooja

BookMyPooja is a technology-enabled platform connecting families with verified pandits and traditional Hindu puja services across India.

We are looking for a creative and hands-on Social Media Executive who can turn real pujas, rituals, temples, festivals, and cultural moments into engaging digital content.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys shooting videos, editing, brainstorming ideas, travelling to puja locations, and understanding Indian/Hindu traditions.

Key Responsibilities

? Video Shooting & Cinematic Content

- Shoot high-quality videos and reels at puja ceremonies, homes, temples, events and other locations.
- Capture cinematic shots of rituals, pandits, decorations, samagri and important moments.
- Plan shots, angles, sequences and storytelling before and during shoots.
- Create short-form content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other social platforms.
- Travel to different puja locations, customer homes, temples and events for content creation.

✂️ Video Editing
- Independently edit engaging short-form videos and reels.
- Add music, transitions, subtitles, voiceovers, sound effects and storytelling elements.
- Create content that feels authentic, premium and culturally appropriate.
- Repurpose long-form footage into multiple social media assets.
- Maintain consistent visual quality and brand identity.

? Content & Brainstorming
- Generate new and creative content ideas around:
- Hindu rituals & traditions
- Pujas and festivals
- Hindu mythology
- Pandit stories and experiences
- Behind-the-scenes content
- Customer experiences
- Temple and cultural content
- Educational/religious content
- Research trending formats, sounds and content styles and adapt them appropriately.
- Participate actively in weekly content brainstorming sessions.
- Develop concepts from idea → shoot → edit → publish.

? Designing & Social Media




- Create basic social media creatives, thumbnails, posters and stories.
- Design content using tools such as Canva, Photoshop or similar software.
- Assist with maintaining BookMyPooja's social media calendar.
- Write basic captions, hooks and content copy.
- Monitor content performance and use insights to improve future content.

? Cultural & Religious Understanding The candidate should have a genuine interest in Hindu rituals, traditions and Indian culture.

You should be comfortable understanding and correctly representing:

- Different Hindu pujas and rituals
- Festival traditions
- Basic Sanskrit/Hindu terminology
- Regional variations in rituals and customs
- Temple etiquette and cultural sensitivities

Prior experience in religious/cultural content is an advantage.

? Travel & On-Site Work

This is not a desk-only social media role.

You will regularly travel to:

- Customer homes
- Puja locations
- Temples
- Apartment societies
- Religious events
- Festivals
- BookMyPooja events

You should enjoy being on the ground, meeting people, carrying out shoots and finding interesting stories.

Local travel for shoots will be part of the role.

Required Skills

Must Have

- Strong video shooting skills
- Strong video editing skills
- Good understanding of Instagram Reels & YouTube Shorts
- Creative thinking and brainstorming ability
- Good sense of framing, composition and storytelling
- Basic graphic designing skills
- Ability to shoot using a smartphone/camera
- Understanding of social media trends
- Willingness to travel for shoots
- Interest in Hindu culture and rituals
- Ability to work independently from concept to final content

Software / Tools

Experience with one or more of:
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- After Effects
- DaVinci Resolve
- CapCut
- Canva




- Photoshop
- Lightroom

Strong editing and shooting ability is more important than knowing every software tool

Performance & KPIs The role will include performance-based incentives linked to measurable KPIs such as:
- Quality and consistency of content produced
- Number of reels/videos delivered
- Content engagement and reach
- Growth in social media followers
- Video views and watch time
- Creative campaign performance
- Timely execution of the content calendar
- Lead/enquiry contribution from social media
- Successful execution of on-ground shoots and campaigns

Salary: ₹3,00,000 per annum

Additional:Performance-based incentives linked to agreed KPIs.

Experience

Experience:1–3 years preferred.

Freshers with an exceptional portfolio in video editing, cinematic shooting, content creation or social media may also be considered.

Portfolio Required

Candidates should share examples of:

- Reels/videos edited by them
- Videos they have personally shot
- Cinematic/creative work
- Social media campaigns or pages handled
- Graphic designs, if available

Portfolio quality will be given significant importance.
