About Tale of Tails

Tale of Tails (TOT) is India's first unified pet parenting app - medical records, vaccination reminders, walk tracking, sitter handoffs, emergency vet consultations, and a pet social community called PawSocial. We have 2,000+ users who love us and we're growing fast. We're building an India where every pet parent has the tools, the knowledge, and the community to give their pet the best life possible.

This role exists because we believe the best way to reach an Indian pet parent is through a Reel that makes them laugh, a video that makes them feel seen, or a YouTube Short that teaches them something they didn't know they needed. If you can make that happen consistently, creatively, and with a genuine love for animals, we want you on the team.

What this role is

This is not a job where you execute a content calendar someone else built. You will own the video content strategy and production for TOT from the idea to the edit to the upload. You will work closely with the founder and the marketing team, but the creative will be yours.

You are equally a storyteller and an editor. You can script a 30-second Reel, shoot it on a phone if needed, edit it to a hook, and post it. You also know how to take raw footage from a shoot and turn it into a polished YouTube video with captions, chapters, and a thumbnail that gets clicked.

What you must bring

Non-negotiable skills

Video editing tools

Proficient in CapCut, InShot, or VN for short-form. Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro for long-form. Can deliver in both formats without switching between editors for different tasks.

Short-form storytelling

Can write and edit a Reel that earns a save. Understands pacing, transitions, text overlays, trending audio, and the anatomy of a hook. Has made content that performed not just content that was posted.

Caption writing The video and the caption are one piece of content.



Can write a caption that supports the video's job not just a description of what's happening on screen.

Phone videography basics

Can shoot secure, well-lit footage on a phone when a cameraperson isn't available. Understands framing, natural light, and how to capture a pet moment that feels real.

The person we're looking for

- Has a genuine love for animals - you'll be making content about pets every day. If you don't feel something when a dog/cat does something ridiculous, this role isn't for you.
- Has a portfolio and we will ask for it. Links to Reels you've edited, YouTube videos you've produced, or a personal account where your work lives. Work speaks louder than a resume.
- Is self-directed - you don't need to be told what to make every Monday. You observe, you spot opportunities, you bring ideas before being asked.
- Understands that a Reel that gets 5 downloads is worth more to TOT than a Reel that gets 5,000 views. Reach is nice. Conversion is the job.
- Is comfortable with imperfection - the best pet content is often unscripted. You ship, you learn, you improve. You don't wait for perfect conditions.
