Manage day-to-day plant operations during the assigned shift.

Ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of production/process equipment.

Monitor operational parameters and ensure processes are followed as per defined standards.

Manage manpower deployment and optimize utilization across the shift.

Coordinate with maintenance, quality, safety, and other departments for smooth operations.

Ensure achievement of shift-wise production and operational targets.

1. Operation Formula / Process Management

Monitor and manage operation formulas, process parameters, and standard operating conditions. Ensure correct implementation of operating recipes/formulas as per approved process requirements.

Identify deviations in process parameters and take timely corrective action.

Maintain consistency and stability of operations across shifts.

Support process improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

1. Control Panel Operation

Operate and monitor control panels, PLC/HMI systems, and associated process control systems. Monitor critical operating parameters, alarms, interlocks, and process conditions.

Take appropriate corrective action in case of abnormal operating conditions.

Coordinate with the maintenance/automation team for control panel and instrumentation-related issues.

Ensure proper shift handover of control panel status, abnormalities, and pending actions.

1. Shop Floor Management

Supervise and control all shop floor activities during the assigned shift. Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and operational standards.

Monitor equipment condition, process performance, manpower productivity, and housekeeping.

Maintain discipline and effective communication among shift personnel.

Conduct regular shop floor rounds and identify operational risks or deviations.

1. Troubleshooting & Gap Identification

Identify and troubleshoot operational,



process, and equipment-related issues. Analyze recurring problems and coordinate with relevant teams for root-cause identification.

Identify gaps between actual and standard operating conditions.

Implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize downtime and process losses.

Escalate critical issues promptly to the appropriate management/technical team.

1. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate shift-wise production and operational records. Prepare shift reports covering production, downtime, abnormalities, breakdowns, and corrective actions.

Ensure proper documentation of process parameters, checklists, logbooks, and operational records.

Maintain proper shift handover and takeover documentation.

Track pending actions and ensure timely closure.

1. Auditing & Compliance

Ensure compliance with company SOPs, operational standards, quality requirements, and safety procedures. Support internal and external audits by maintaining required records and documentation.

Conduct periodic checks to identify process and documentation gaps.

Ensure corrective actions arising from audits are implemented and closed within timelines.

Promote a culture of safety, quality, discipline, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of plant/shop floor operations.

Hands-on experience in control panel operation and process monitoring.

Knowledge of PLC/HMI and basic automation systems will be an advantage.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.

Ability to identify operational gaps and implement corrective actions.

Good understanding of SOPs, process parameters, and operational documentation.

Solid manpower and shift management skills.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and manage critical situations.

Strong focus on safety, quality, productivity, and operational discipline.

Candidates with hands on experience in chemical industry and battery industry will be preferred.
