Position Overview

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test coverage across our Next.js web applications and native iOS and Android mobile applications.

This role will use Playwright for web automation and Appium for mobile automation. The ideal candidate has experience creating reliable, maintainable test frameworks, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and partnering with developers and manual QA engineers to improve release quality.

Responsibilities

- Design and maintain automated testing frameworks using Playwright and Appium.
- Build end-to-end automated tests for Next.js web applications.
- Build automated tests for native iOS and Android applications.
- Create reusable test components, fixtures, utilities, and test data.
- Automate critical user journeys, regression tests, smoke tests, and integration scenarios.
- Validate application behavior across supported browsers, devices, operating systems,

and screen sizes.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Configure test execution for development, test, staging, and production-like

environments.
- Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and distinguish application defects from

automation issues.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and manual QA engineers to define

acceptance criteria and test coverage.
- Review requirements and technical designs to identify testability concerns and coverage

gaps.
- Document test plans, automation standards, execution results, and known limitations.
- Track automation coverage, test reliability, defect detection, and regression trends.
- Reduce flaky tests and continuously improve test-suite stability and execution speed.
- Support release validation and investigate production issues when necessary.
- Help manual QA engineers execute, understand, and expand automated test suites.

Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in QA automation or software development in test.




- Hands-on experience with Playwright for browser and end-to-end web testing.
- Hands-on experience with Appium for iOS and Android automation.
- Experience testing React or Next.js applications.
- Strong working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience testing native mobile applications on physical devices, simulators, and

emulators.
- Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows.
- Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP requests, authentication, and backend

integrations.
- Experience using Git and working within pull-request-based development workflows.
- Ability to troubleshoot failed tests using logs, screenshots, videos, network activity, and

application data.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, regression strategies, and the

software development lifecycle.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm, or a similar

device-testing platform.
- Experience with API automation and contract testing.
- Experience testing financial technology, payments, banking, payroll, or other regulated

products.
- Familiarity with accessibility testing and WCAG requirements.
- Experience validating analytics, event tracking, and third-party integrations.
- Familiarity with Jira, Zephyr, or comparable test-management tools.
- Experience with performance, load, or security testing.
- Familiarity with test-data creation, database validation, and environment management.
- Experience mentoring manual QA engineers or helping teams adopt automation

practices.
