Senior QA Engineer - AI & Functional Testing

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Senior QA Engineers to support the delivery of enterprise AI and technology solutions within a highly regulated environment.

The role will focus on functional quality assurance, risk-based testing, end-to-end validation and quality governance across complex AI-enabled solutions.

You will work closely with Business Analysts, Product, Engineering, Data and Compliance teams to ensure solutions are accurate, reliable, secure, traceable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and execute risk-based testing strategies for complex enterprise applications.
- Prioritise testing effort based on business criticality, regulatory impact, technical risk and release timelines.
- Design and execute functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
- Develop QA approaches for AI-enabled applications where outputs may vary between executions.
- Validate AI outputs for accuracy, consistency, reliability, safety and appropriateness.
- Test workflows involving data and integrations across multiple enterprise systems.
- Identify quality, compliance and delivery risks and escalate issues appropriately.
- Work with Business Analysts and technical teams to ensure requirements are clear, testable and traceable.
- Produce test plans, test scenarios, test cases, defect records and test evidence.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, testing activities, defects, releases and compliance obligations.
- Support UAT, release readiness and production deployment activities.
- Provide clear quality and release recommendations to project and senior stakeholders.

Required Experience

- Robust experience as a QA Engineer, Test Analyst or Senior Functional Tester.
- Proven experience with functional, integration, regression and end-to-end testing.




- Strong understanding of risk-based testing and test prioritisation.
- Experience testing complex applications involving multiple systems and data integrations.
- Experience identifying and managing quality and delivery risks.
- Strong defect management and root-cause analysis capability.
- Experience working with requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong understanding of test traceability and quality governance.
- Experience working within structured software delivery lifecycles.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills and the confidence to challenge release decisions where quality risks exist.

Desirable

- Experience testing AI, GenAI, LLM or AI-enabled applications.
- Understanding of how to test non-deterministic AI outputs.
- Experience with AI evaluation approaches covering accuracy, hallucination, relevance, safety and consistency.
- Experience within life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare, clinical research or another highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of validated systems, GxP, computer system validation or formal quality frameworks.
- Experience testing integrations involving platforms such as ServiceNow, Workday, SharePoint or enterprise data sources.
- Familiarity with API testing tools and basic test automation would be beneficial, but this is not primarily an automation testing role.

Profile We are looking for strong QA professionals who think beyond simply executing test scripts.

You should be able to assess risk, determine where testing effort will provide the greatest value, identify issues others may miss and provide clear recommendations on whether a solution is genuinely ready for release.

Experience testing AI-enabled products is highly desirable, particularly where outputs are not entirely deterministic and quality must be assessed across accuracy, safety, reliability, governance and business suitability.
