Key responsibilities

- Own Yocto-based image construction, layers, recipes, source pinning, licences and reproducible builds.

- Integrate and maintain bootloader, kernel, device tree, board-support package and device drivers.

- Bring up displays, digitiser or stylus, navigation input, storage, power telemetry, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and secure hardware.

- Engineer boot time, suspend or resume, low-power states, wake sources and crash recovery.

- Implement secure boot, device identity, signing, A/B update, rollback, factory provisioning and authorised recovery.

- Define reliable, versioned hardware-service interfaces for the device application.

- Build diagnostics, logging, production flashing and hardware-test utilities.

- Maintain vendor-BSP changes and an upstream or long-term-support strategy.

- Profile CPU, memory, storage, thermal and energy behaviour under representative workloads.

- Produce handover documentation and automated hardware-in-loop regression tests.

Required qualifications and evidence

- B.E.



or B.Tech in ECE, CSE, Electrical or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

- Eight or more years in production embedded Linux.

- Advanced C or C++, Linux debugging, kernel or device-tree and board-bring-up skills.

- Production experience with Yocto, U-Boot and vendor-BSP integration.

- Evidence of maintaining a device after release, including updates and field failures.

Strongly preferred

- E-paper or display-controller, input, DRM or framebuffer, or stylus-driver work.

- RAUC, SWUpdate, Mender or equivalent signed A/B update systems.

- OP-TEE, TrustZone, secure elements, dm-crypt and device provisioning.

- Power profiling and aggressive suspend or resume optimisation.

- Factory programming and test-station integration.
