- 1.0- 31-Aug-2026 Senior DDI / BlueCat Implementation Engineer
Location: India (Remote / Hybrid — delivery-aligned to client time zones)
Experience: 10+ years
Engagement Type:
Project-based — Implementation & Migration
Function: Infrastructure & Cloud Services (ICS)
Reports To: Delivery Lead / Practice Head — DDI
About the Role
InOpTra is building a dedicated BlueCat delivery practice to support implementation and migration engagements for BlueCat's Professional Services organization and its end customers. As a Senior DDI / BlueCat Implementation Engineer, you will be a core member of this practice — owning the technical delivery of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM migration and implementation projects end to end.
This is a high-ownership, project-based role. You will work directly with BlueCat's internal teams and customer environments, and are expected to bring deep DDI expertise, strong migration experience, and the ability to operate independently on complex engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation & Migration Delivery
- Lead end-to-end deployment of BlueCat Integrity and/or Horizon DDI platforms in customer environments
- Execute DNS, DHCP, and IPAM migrations from legacy platforms (Infoblox, Microsoft DNS/DHCP, BIND, ISC DHCP) to BlueCat
- Design and implement DDI architecture aligned to customer requirements — zone structures, scope hierarchies, HA configurations
- Manage data transformation, validation, and cutover planning to ensure zero-downtime migrations
- Conduct pre-migration assessments and produce detailed migration runbooks
Technical Execution
- Configure and tune BlueCat Integrity/Horizon for enterprise-scale environments
- Integrate DDI platforms with IPAM workflows, CMDB, and service desk tooling where required
- Develop and execute automation scripts for data migration, bulk imports, and configuration tasks (Python, REST API, Bash)
- Perform post-implementation validation, testing, and handover documentation
Stakeholder & Delivery Management
- Engage directly with BlueCat PS leadership and customer technical teams
- Provide regular project status updates and escalate risks proactively
- Mentor mid-level engineers within the DDI practice as the team scales
- Contribute to reusable delivery assets — runbooks, templates, and knowledge base articles
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory
- 10+ years in network/infrastructure engineering with a strong focus on DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI)
- Proven hands-on experience delivering DDI migrations at enterprise scale — multiple completed projects required
- Deep expertise in DNS architecture — split-horizon, forwarders, delegation, DNSSEC, recursive vs. authoritative
- Strong DHCP experience — scope design, failover/HA, relay configuration, lease management
- IPAM design and governance — IP hierarchies, subnet planning, utilization tracking
- Experience migrating from at least one of: Infoblox NIOS, Microsoft DNS/DHCP, BIND/ISC DHCP, or EfficientIP
- Scripting proficiency — Python or Bash for automation and bulk migration tasks
- Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation independently
Strongly Preferred
- Hands-on experience with BlueCat Integrity (Address Manager + BDDS) — configuration, administration, or migration
- Exposure to BlueCat Horizon DDI (cloud-native platform) — any level of familiarity valued
- Experience working within a partner or professional services delivery model (SI, managed services, or similar)
- Familiarity with BlueCat REST API for automation and integration workflows
Good to Have
- Cisco networking background — routing, switching, network segmentation in DDI-adjacent contexts
- Cloud DDI exposure — AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, or hybrid DDI architectures
- ITIL or project delivery framework experience
- Prior experience in a white-label or sub-contractor delivery model
Certifications
- BlueCat Certified (any level) — strongly preferred
- Infoblox Certified (NCSA / NCDDI) — relevant if transitioning from Infoblox environments
- Cisco CCNP / CCIE — advantageous
- ITIL Foundation — advantageous
