About the Role

Mitti Café is looking for a Senior Captain who can ensure excellent customer service and smooth floor operations. The Senior Captain will be responsible for directly serving customers, maintaining table cleanliness, coordinating with the kitchen, handling customer payments, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Table Service

- Welcome customers and assist them with seating.
- Provide menus and explain menu items whenever required.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers.
- Coordinate orders with the kitchen and ensure timely service.
- Serve food and beverages to customers properly and professionally.
- Regularly check tables and attend to customer requirements.
- Refill water and other items as required during service.
- Provide additional plates, cutlery, tissues, condiments, etc., whenever required.
- Ensure customers receive their orders correctly and on time.
- Handle customer requests politely and promptly.

Table Clearing & Cleanliness
- Transparent used plates, glasses, cutlery, and other items from the table after customers leave.
- Ensure tables are properly cleaned and reset for the next customer.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper presentation of the dining area.
- Ensure service areas are clean and well organized throughout the shift.
- Report any damaged or broken crockery, cutlery, or glassware to the concerned manager.

Billing & Customer Payments




- Prepare or coordinate the customer's bill as per the restaurant's process.
- Present the bill to customers and collect payment when required.
- Handle cash/card/UPI payments according to company procedures.
- Ensure the correct amount is collected and provide the receipt to the customer.
- Coordinate with the cashier/manager regarding any billing discrepancies.
- Maintain proper accountability for any payments handled directly.

Coordination & Floor Operations
- Coordinate with the kitchen and other service staff for smooth order flow.
- Ensure food is picked up from the kitchen and served to the correct table.
- Communicate customer special requests or modifications to the kitchen.
- Monitor the dining area continuously during the shift.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in maintaining smooth daily floor operations.
- Support other team members during busy hours whenever required.

Team & Shift Responsibilities
- Guide and assist junior Captains and Stewards during service.
- Ensure that assigned service duties are completed properly.
- Brief the service team regarding important instructions before the shift.
- Follow restaurant SOPs, hygiene standards, grooming standards, and service procedures.
- Ensure proper opening and closing of the service area as assigned.
- Report customer complaints,



operational issues, shortages, or other concerns to the Restaurant Manager.

Required Skills
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Knowledge of basic restaurant service procedures.
- Ability to serve food and beverages efficiently.
- Good table-clearing and table-setting skills.
- Basic knowledge of billing and payment procedures.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with kitchen and service teams.
- Ability to work efficiently during busy hours.
- Professional grooming and a positive attitude.
- Good teamwork and responsibility towards assigned duties.

Eligibility
- Minimum 12th Pass; hospitality/restaurant-related qualification will be an advantage.
- 2–4 years of experience in restaurant, café, hotel, or hospitality service.
- Candidates with previous experience as Captain/Senior Captain/Steward will be preferred.
- Willing to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and festive days.

Salary

₹[15000 - 22000] per month, based on experience and interview performance.
