Senior Backend Engineer/Tech Lead

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer/Tech Lead who can remain hands-on while taking ownership of backend architecture, technical execution, and team mentoring.

The role involves building reliable production systems, improving engineering practices, mentoring developers, and contributing to technical decisions across the product.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
- Build APIs, business workflows, integrations, background jobs, webhooks, and reconciliation systems.
- Own backend architecture, data models, service boundaries, and technical design.
- Work closely with React Native engineers to define APIs, application states, error handling, and integrations.
- Design reliable asynchronous and event-driven workflows with proper retry, failure, duplicate, and reconciliation handling.
- Work with relational databases, caching, queues, APIs, and third-party integrations.
- Establish best practices for coding, testing, code reviews, documentation, observability, and production releases.
- Mentor junior developers through code reviews, design discussions, debugging, and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, and other stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
- Improve CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, logging, security, and deployment processes.
- Evaluate and integrate AI tools and technologies where they can improve engineering productivity or product capabilities.

Required Skills :





- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python backend development.
- Valuable experience with REST APIs, relational databases, asynchronous processing, queues, webhooks, caching, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with React Native or strong understanding of mobile-backend integration.
- Experience with AWS or GCP and cloud-based application development.
- Good knowledge of CI/CD, Docker/containerisation, monitoring, logging, security, and production support.
- Experience leading or mentoring a team of developers.
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, reliability, testing, and observability.
- Experience with fintech, payments, investments, banking, or other high-trust products is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with AI/LLM integrations or AI-assisted development is preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, code-review, and ownership skills.

Preferred Experience :

- Financial products, investment platforms, payments, broker/custodian integrations, or reconciliation systems.
- Designing systems with complex transaction states such as pending, retry, failed, duplicate, and reconciled.
- Experience building mobile applications using React Native with Python backend services.
- Experience in startup or zero-to-one environments.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, or managing engineering teams.

Education :

- UG: Any Graduate
