Job Title : Senior AI Platform Engineer / DevSecOps

Role Summary:

- We need a hands-on developer contractor to help implement secure AI platform capabilities, with emphasis on Python engineering, policy-as-code, API integration, non-human identity automation, and selected Unifi Portal changes. This is not primarily a Kubernetes platform engineering role; existing teams are expected to handle core cluster-level work.
- The ideal candidate can turn architecture, security, and platform requirements into working software, automated tests, reusable templates, operational documentation, and support-ready implementation patterns.

Priority Skills:

- Must have: Python engineering, API/service integration, automated testing, CI/CD automation, production support, and strong documentation habits.
- Valuable: Developer portal, service catalog, workflow automation, or Backstage implementation experience.
- Valuable: Open Policy Agent, Rego, policy-as-code, authorization controls, policy bundle management, and runtime decision troubleshooting.
- Valuable: Non-human identity automation, workload/service account lifecycle, registry integration, observability, and secure-by-design engineering.
- Secondary: Kubernetes, Helm, APISIX, Envoy, containers, egress controls, and cluster deployment patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop Python services, shared packages, scripts, and APIs supporting AI agents, MCP services, policy enforcement, identity automation, and platform workflows.
- Author, test, refactor, and maintain OPA/Rego policies governing model access, tool access, MCP service access, and AI agent behavior.
- Implement policy bundle creation, validation,



versioning, publishing, deployment, monitoring, and failure alerting.
- Implement selected Unifi Portal changes for AI agent registration, MCP service onboarding, request workflows, status tracking, and product-team handoffs.
- Integrate with identity providers, registries, API gateways, observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud/platform services.
- Create end-to-end tests, negative-path tests, runbooks, deployment guides, validation evidence, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Expected Deliverables:

- Production-ready OPA/Rego policy set with automated unit, integration, regression, and negative-path tests.
- Python services, packages, templates, and APIs supporting AI agent and MCP service enablement.
- Unifi Portal or developer-portal changes supporting registration, onboarding, workflow visibility, and operational handoffs.
- Automated non-human identity lifecycle and registry synchronization patterns with appropriate auditability.
- Operational dashboards, alerts, documentation, deployment guides, runbooks, and knowledge transfer.

Candidate Requirements:

- 7+ years of hands-on software, platform, cloud, DevSecOps, SRE, or comparable engineering experience.
- Solid Python engineering background, including reusable packages, APIs, automated tests, logging, error handling, and production support.
- Experience implementing policy-as-code, OPA/Rego, authorization controls, or closely related access-control technologies.
- Experience with developer portals, service catalogs, workflow automation, internal platform portals, or Unifi Portal changes.
- Able to work through ambiguity, identify dependencies, communicate risk, and deliver support-ready outcomes across multiple teams.
