Position: Section In-Charge – Sand Plant

Department: Sand Plant Maintenance

Experience: 5–10 Years in Foundry Sand Plant / Moulding Operations

Qualification: Diploma / BE / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Foundry Technology

Key Responsibilities

- - Overall responsibility for sand plant operations, production and quality.
- Control and maintain green sand properties such as moisture, compactability, permeability, GCS and other defined parameters.
- Ensure proper sand preparation, mixing, reclamation and distribution as per process standards.
- Monitor sand plant equipment, mixers, conveyors, screens, coolers and reclamation systems.
- Ensure availability and proper control of bentonite, coal dust, additives and other consumables.
- Coordinate with Moulding, Melting, Quality and Maintenance departments for smooth production.
- Analyze and control casting defects related to moulding sand such as blowholes, scabs, sand inclusion, veining and poor mould strength.
- Monitor sand consumption, rejection,



productivity and process losses and initiate improvement actions.
- Ensure implementation of 5S, safety, SOPs, Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain daily production, quality and process parameter records.
- Lead and develop operators and technicians working in the sand plant.

Desired Skills

- - Strong knowledge of Green Sand Process and Sand Plant Operations.
- Valuable understanding of foundry defects and their relationship with sand properties.
- Knowledge of sand testing and process control.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead manpower and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, TPM and safety practices will be an advantage.
