Role Description The Salesperson will work on-site at Granth Book Store in Mumbai in a full time capacity, helping customers discover books that match their interests and needs. Daily responsibilities include greeting visitors, understanding their preferences, recommending titles, and assisting with purchases at the sales counter. The role involves maintaining organized and visually appealing shelves, managing stock replenishment, and supporting basic inventory checks.

The Salesperson will also handle customer inquiries, process transactions accurately,



and contribute to promotional displays and in-store events. This position requires active engagement with visitors to ensure a welcoming, informed, and enjoyable browsing experience.

Qualifications

- Customer service and retail sales skills, including the ability to engage visitors, understand needs, and close sales effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse customers and provide clear, courteous assistance.
- Basic inventory and merchandising skills, such as organizing shelves, managing stock levels, and maintaining store presentation.
- Cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) operation skills to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Genuine interest in books and reading, with the ability to learn and recommend titles across genres.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks such as shelving and restocking.
- Prior experience in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing roles is beneficial.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; fluency in English and local languages is an advantage.
