You will own the resort's revenue growth from the sales side. Locally, you'll build a steady pipeline of leisure groups and corporate accounts in and around Mangalore. Nationally, you'll build and manage relationships with travel agents, tour operators, DMCs, and other distribution partners to bring in bookings from across India. You'll report to the owner and work closely with the front office and operations teams.
Key responsibilities
Local market (Mangalore and the coastal Karnataka belt)
- Build and manage a corporate accounts portfolio: companies, industrial units, hospitals, educational institutions, and banks, for stays, offsites, and events.
- Target leisure groups: family gatherings, weddings and pre-wedding events, reunions, clubs, and associations.
- Run regular sales calls and site visits, and negotiate corporate rate agreements and group contracts.
- Build referral relationships with local event planners, wedding planners, and corporate travel desks.
National market
- Build a network of travel agents, tour operators, and DMCs in key feeder cities (Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Delhi NCR, Kerala).
- Represent the resort at travel trade fairs, roadshows, and familiarisation (FAM) trips.
- Manage OTA relationships (MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, Agoda, etc.) and rate parity.
- Develop seasonal packages and partnerships, such as weekend getaways, monsoon offers,
and festival and holiday packages.
Marketing and revenue
- Own the annual sales and marketing plan, budget, and monthly revenue targets.
- Oversee the website, Google Business profile, social media, and content, working with agencies or freelancers as needed.
- Work with management on pricing, inventory allocation across channels, and yield decisions.
- Track and report occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, lead conversion, and channel mix every month.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years in hotel or resort sales and marketing, with at least 3 years in a senior sales role.
- Proven track record with both corporate and leisure group business.
- Existing relationships with travel agents and tour operators are a solid plus.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with a hands-on, field-selling mindset.
- Working knowledge of OTAs, channel managers, and digital marketing basics.
- Fluent in English and Kannada or Hindi. Tulu or Konkani is a bonus.
- Willingness to travel extensively within India.
Success measures (first 12 months)
- Growth in room revenue and occupancy against the annual target.
- Number of active corporate accounts and repeat group bookings.
- Share of revenue from travel trade partners versus OTAs.
- Lead-to-booking conversion rate.
Compensation structure A fixed salary plus a performance-linked incentive (for example, a percentage of incremental revenue over baseline, or of group and corporate bookings closed).
