Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled RMJ Tool Specialist responsible for managing and optimizing job scheduling and workload automation processes. This role involves setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting scheduled tasks, optimizing job performance, and ensuring seamless workflow dependencies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with job scheduling tools, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of best practices for efficient and reliable job scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

•

Job Scheduling and Monitoring

Schedule and manage recurring tasks, long-running jobs, and high-priority operations using RMJ tools.

Monitor job status to ensure successful execution and timely completion, taking action on delays or failures.

•

Job Chaining and Dependency Management:

Design and configure job chains, setting up task dependencies to ensure proper sequencing and workflow continuity.

Schedule dependency-based jobs to coordinate multiple processes and minimize redundant operations.

•

Event-based Job Scheduling:

Create and configure jobs triggered by specific events or conditions (e.g., data arrival, external system triggers) for timely execution.

•

Job Migration

Oversee and execute job migration from existing job scheduling tools (e.g., UC4) to the RMJ platform, ensuring data integrity and workflow continuity.

•

Maintenance Strategy

Develop and implement RMJ maintenance strategies for both planned and unplanned downtimes, ensuring minimal impact on job execution.

•

Troubleshooting and Performance Optimization:





Diagnose and resolve issues related to long-running jobs, job failures and resource contention.

Implement best practices to optimize job run times, resource allocation and system load.

•

Job Queue Analysis

Analyze job queues to manage workload distribution effectively and identify opportunities for optimization.

•

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain comprehensive documentation of job workflows, configurations, and dependency structures.

Generate reports on job performance, trends and areas for improvement.

•

Alter Notification

Should have to good command on setting up the notifications based on the alignment with the job owner.

•

Scripting Knowledge (Good to Have):

Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) to automate repetitive tasks and enhance job scheduling flexibility.

Required Skills and Qualifications

•

Proficiency in RMJ or similar job scheduling and management tools.

•

Experience with job migration processes, particularly transitioning from UC4 or similar tools to RMJ.

•

Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving job execution issues.

•

Knowledge of job dependency configuration, event-based triggers, and workflow optimization.

•

Ability to create and manage maintenance strategies, ensuring RMJ reliability during downtimes.

•

Experience in resource management, performance tuning and monitoring job SLAs.

•

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for improving job reliability and efficiency.

•

Solid written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and documentation.

•

Scripting experience in languages like Python or Shell is a plus for additional job automation.
