Recruiter - Garment Factory

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Recruiter with a strong background in garment manufacturing recruitment, particularly in sourcing and hiring experienced Sewing Machine Operators (Tailors), Checkers, Cutters, Packers, QA/QC, Helpers, and Production-related workforce for garment factories.

The ideal candidate should have proven expertise in bulk hiring, workforce mobilization, and rapid recruitment ramp-ups, with extensive sourcing networks across Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and other labour-intensive regions.

Role & responsibilities

Recruitment & Sourcing

- Source and recruit experienced Sewing Machine Operators (Tailors) and other garment factory workers from Tamil Nadu and various states across India.
- Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines through agents, consultants, NGOs, training institutes, employee referrals, job fairs, and local recruitment drives.
- Conduct end-to-end recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding coordination.
- Organize and execute large-scale recruitment campaigns to meet factory manpower requirements.
- Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract skilled garment workers in competitive labor markets.

Bulk Hiring & Ramp-Up Management





- Manage bulk hiring projects for new production lines, factory expansions, and seasonal business demands.
- Support urgent manpower requirements and sudden production ramp-ups within tight timelines.
- Coordinate travel, relocation, accommodation, and joining formalities for outstation candidates.
- Ensure timely fulfillment of recruitment targets while maintaining quality standards.

Stakeholder Coordination

- Work closely with Production, Industrial Engineering, and Factory HR teams to understand manpower requirements.
- Coordinate with labor contractors, local recruiters, and community networks across sourcing regions.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment lifecycle.

Recruitment Analytics & Compliance

- Track recruitment metrics including sourcing effectiveness, joining rates, and attrition trends.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and MIS reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and ethical recruitment practices.

Preferred candidate profile

Education

- Graduate in any discipline.
- Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related field will be an added advantage.

Experience





- 3-8 years of recruitment experience, with at least 2-5 years in garment manufacturing recruitment.
- Proven experience in hiring Sewing Machine Operators (SMOs), Tailors, Helpers, Finishers, Checkers, and other factory workforce.
- Strong experience in bulk hiring and manpower mobilization for garment factories.
- Experience handling recruitment for 100+ to 1,000+ positions during ramp-up projects will be preferred.

Skills & Competencies

- Strong sourcing network across Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and other key labor markets.
- Excellent candidate engagement and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel frequently for recruitment drives and hiring campaigns.
- Solid planning, coordination, and execution capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive hiring targets.
- Knowledge of labor market trends within the garment industry.

Language Requirements

Preferred Languages:

- Tamil
- English
- Hindi

Ability to converse effectively in all three languages will be highly preferred.
