Role & responsibilities

1. Plan and execute organic synthesis experiments for new compounds and process development activities.
2. Perform reactions, work-up, purification, crystallization, and isolation of target compounds.
3. Maintain detailed laboratory records, experimental procedures, observations, and results.
4. Prepare and maintain laboratory notebooks, batch records, experimental reports, and synthesis summaries
5. Document reaction conditions, quantities, yields, analytical results, and deviations accurately.
6. Compile and interpret analytical data such as HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR, XRD and other relevant techniques.
7. Prepare technical reports, synthetic procedures, development reports, and supporting documentation.
8. Ensure documentation follows company SOPs, data-integrity principles, and applicable quality requirements.
9. Review experimental records for completeness, accuracy, and traceability.
10. Coordinate with Analytical, Process Development, DQA, and other R&D; teams as required.

Maintain proper documentation of failed experiments, troubleshooting activities, and process improvements.
12. Support preparation of documents required for technology transfer, scale-up, and regulatory submissions where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Strong knowledge of organic/synthetic chemistry and reaction mechanisms.
2. Hands-on experience in laboratory-scale synthesis and purification.
3. Good understanding of analytical techniques and interpretation of analytical data.
4. Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
5. Ability to prepare transparent and reproducible experimental procedures.
6. Good knowledge of MS Office/Excel and electronic documentation systems.
7. Familiarity with GLP, SOPs, and data integrity is an advantage.
8. Ability to review scientific literature, patents, and chemical databases.
9. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
