Job title: QC Engineer — Fire Suppression Manufacturing & Gas Cylinder Filling
Company: SVS Buildwel Private Limited
Location: Neetaji Subhash vihar Indl Area, Tikri, Delhi · On-site
Employment type: Full time · Mid-Senior level
Job function: Quality Assurance · Manufacturing
Industry: Fire Protection / Industrial Machinery Manufacturing
About SVS Buildwel
SVS Buildwel has manufactured and installed fire safety and ELV systems for 18 years, serving government, PSU, metro, railway and hospital clients across India. Our Firetrex clean-agent suppression systems are built in our own plant in Rohini, Delhi — not rebranded.
The role
We are creating a dedicated QC Engineer position at the plant.
That matters more here than in most factories. A fire suppression system is only tested in a real emergency. A defect that escapes our gate is not discovered until the system is needed. You will be the last person between the shop floor and that moment.
You will report to the DGM — Production, Planning & QC.
What you will do
- Incoming inspection of bought-out material against specification, and collection of test certificates at receipt
- In-process inspection at defined hold points on the line
- Final QC and functional testing on every unit before release
- Cylinder weighing, pressure testing and leak testing, with records maintained at serial level
- Own the calibration register for all gauges and instruments, and withdraw anything out of calibration
- Raise non-conformance reports, drive disposition, and verify corrective action closes the root cause rather than the symptom
- Handle pre-dispatch inspections by clients,
consultants and third-party inspectors — you will face them directly
- Maintain batch and serial traceability so any dispatched unit can be traced back to its material and its operator
- Feed quarterly warranty failure data back into production and design
What you need
- Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–6 years in quality control in a manufacturing plant — pressure vessels, cylinders, valves, fire equipment, HVAC or comparable engineered products
- Hands-on with pressure testing, leak testing, weighing and the associated record keeping
- Working knowledge of calibration control, and of raising and closing non-conformance reports
- Able to read engineering drawings and a bill of materials, and inspect against a written specification rather than by eye
- Able to hold a rejection under commercial pressure. This is part of the job, not an edge case
Nice to have
- Exposure to PESO requirements for gas cylinders and filling
- Experience facing client, consultant or third-party pre-dispatch inspection
- ISO 9001 quality system experience, including internal audit
- Exposure to clean agent systems — FK-5-1-12, NOVEC, FM-200 or similar
Why this role You will not be inheriting someone else's quality system. There isn't one yet. You will define the hold points, build the records, set up calibration control, and decide what "passed" means at this plant — with direct access to the department head and no layer in between.
If you have spent three or four years executing a QC plan somebody else wrote, this is the step where you write it.
