We are looking for a robust hands-on Senior QA Automation Engineer who can design, develop, and maintain a scalable automation framework for our web applications.

The candidate should have strong automation fundamentals and should be capable of building automation from the ground up, identifying the right automation approach, troubleshooting failures, and continuously improving the framework as the application evolves.

The person will work closely with QA, Development, Product, and DevOps teams.

Experience

- 5+ years of overall QA experience
- Minimum 3+ years of strong hands-on automation experience
- Experience building or significantly enhancing an automation framework
- Strong manual testing fundamentals are required

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop a scalable UI automation framework.
- Automate end-to-end business workflows, not only individual screens or test cases.
- Create reusable automation components that can be used across multiple modules.
- Maintain a centralized approach for locators, configurations, test data, and reusable functions.
- Develop automation that can run across different environments such as Dev, QA, Demo, and Production without major code changes.
- Handle dynamic UI elements, waits, asynchronous behaviour, pop-ups, validations, error messages, and complex user workflows.
- Implement stable element identification strategies using IDs, semantic/accessibility properties, roles, labels, text, and other reliable locators.
- Work with Development teams when application changes are required to make the application automation-friendly.
- Develop and maintain API automation wherever applicable.
- Validate UI and API workflows together for complete end-to-end testing.
- Implement cross-browser automation.
- Support data-driven and reusable test automation.
- Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines.
- Generate clear automation execution reports with pass/fail results, screenshots, logs, and failure reasons.
- Analyse failed automation scripts and identify whether the issue is related to application, test data, environment, or automation code.




- Maintain automation code using Git and follow proper branching and code-review practices.
- Participate in automation planning and identify the right scenarios for regression and smoke automation.
- Support QA team members in understanding and contributing to automation.

- Flutter Web application automation
- Flutter semantics/accessibility-based automation
- Playwright with TypeScript
- API automation using Playwright, Rest Assured or similar tools
- AWS-hosted applications
- Applications accessible through VPN/private environments
- Jira
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or equivalent
- Performance testing exposure using JMeter or similar tools

Automation Framework Expectations The candidate should be capable of designing a framework where:
- Locators are maintained centrally and can be changed without rewriting complete test flows.




- Workplace URLs and configurations are maintained separately.
- Test data is separated from automation scripts.
- Common actions are reusable.
- Screenshots and logs are captured automatically for failures.
- Tests can run individually, module-wise, or as complete regression suites.
- The framework supports multiple environments.
- Automation scripts remain stable even when minor UI changes happen.
- New modules can be added easily without redesigning the framework.
- Reports clearly show execution status and failure reasons.

What We Are Looking For We need someone who is genuinely hands-on.

The candidate should be able to explain:

- How they designed an automation framework.
- Why a particular framework design was selected.
- How they handle unstable or dynamic elements.
- How they reduce flaky automation tests.
- How they automate complete business workflows.
- How they manage different environments and test data.
- How they integrate automation into CI/CD.
- How they debug failed automation.
- How they decide what should and should not be automated.
- How they work with developers when UI elements are not automation-friendly.

Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to running or maintaining already-created automation scripts may not be suitable for this role.
