PURCHASE HEAD - PROCUREMENT & VENDOR STRATEGY 3+ Years - Faridabad

Crescendo Global has been exclusively mandated to hire a Purchase Head – Procurement & Vendor Strategy for a rapidly growing and profitable D2C consumer company with its own manufacturing and R&D; facilities.

This is a leadership role for a procurement professional who can take complete ownership of procurement savings, vendor strategy, supply reliability, inventory and purchase controls.

The role will manage a team of 2 Purchase Executives and work closely with Management, Store, Ecommerce/Amazon Operations, Finance, Quality and Plant Operations.

Our client is a rapidly growing and profitable D2C consumer company with manufacturing and R&D; facilities across Faridabad and Shimla.

The company operates in the beauty and personal-care space with brands including Indus Valley, Bio Organic and O4U.

The organisation is focused on building strong procurement systems, reliable vendor networks and scalable manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Own overall procurement savings by negotiating vendor rates, annual rate contracts, price holds, freight and landed costs.
2. Develop and manage the vendor strategy by consolidating spend with A-grade vendors and developing qualified backup vendors for critical materials.
3. Ensure supply continuity by maintaining strong vendor performance and achieving 95%+ On-Time-In-Full delivery.
4. Work closely with Store and Ecommerce/Amazon teams to understand demand and urgency requirements and prevent stockouts and panic buying.
5. Conduct weekly GRN-vs-MRN reconciliation and recover money related to wrong billing, short supply and rejection claims.
6. Implement procurement controls including the 3-quote rule, PO approvals and vendor-master change controls.
7. Review reorder levels, safety stock and vendor payment terms with Finance to reduce dead stock and improve cash flow.
8. Lead,



manage and coach a team of 2 Purchase Executives, including setting monthly KPIs and reviewing performance.
9. Build direct relationships with strategic vendors and reduce single-source dependency for critical procurement categories.
10. Maintain procurement trackers and report key performance metrics including savings, vendor mix, OTIF, reconciliation and recovery to Management.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Graduate or MBA, preferably with a background in Supply Chain or Operations.
2. 6–10 years of procurement experience with at least 2+ years of experience leading a buying/purchase team.
3. Experience in FMCG, beauty, personal care, consumer products or manufacturing is preferred.
4. Strong experience in vendor negotiation, costing, rate contracts and landed-cost management.
5. Proven experience in delivering measurable procurement savings and cost optimisation.
6. Hands-on experience in vendor development and identifying alternate/backup suppliers for critical materials.
7. Experience with GRN-vs-MRN reconciliation, billing discrepancies and vendor recovery.
8. Strong understanding of inventory management, reorder levels, safety stock and payment terms.
9. Strong Excel and analytical skills with experience maintaining procurement trackers and dashboards.
10. Robust people-management, negotiation, stakeholder-management and decision-making skills.
