About the Role
Lovely Professional University (LPU) is looking for an experienced Senior Project Management Professional – Civil to lead and oversee large-scale civil construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have 19–25 years of strong experience in project management , with proven expertise in project planning, execution, billing, measurement, contractor management, and clearance of project-related bills and documentation .
The role requires a senior professional capable of managing projects from planning and execution through completion, while ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, budgets, contractual requirements, and organizational processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Management
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of civil construction and infrastructure projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Establish project timelines and monitor progress against approved schedules.
- Identify project dependencies, risks, bottlenecks, and potential delays.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, architects, and vendors.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, budgets, and quality parameters.
1. Project Execution & Site Management
- Supervise and monitor civil construction activities across project sites.
- Ensure execution is aligned with approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and project plans.
- Conduct regular site reviews and assess physical progress.
- Resolve technical and execution-related issues in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor manpower, material availability, equipment, and contractor deployment.
- Ensure proper coordination between civil, MEP, architectural, structural, and other project teams.
1. Project Scheduling & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and execution plans.
- Track planned versus actual progress and highlight deviations.
- Develop recovery plans for delayed activities and ensure timely implementation.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and maintain progress reports.
- Monitor critical-path activities and proactively address potential delays.
1. Billing & Bill Clearance
- Review and verify contractor/vendor bills against actual work executed.
- Ensure measurements, quantities, BOQs, work orders, and contractual terms are properly validated before bill processing.
- Coordinate with site teams, consultants, finance, procurement,
and contractors for timely bill clearance.
- Review running account (RA) bills, final bills, variation statements, extra-item claims, and related documentation.
- Ensure proper certification and supporting documentation for payment processing.
- Identify discrepancies, overbilling, variation issues, and deviations before approval.
- Facilitate timely resolution of billing-related queries and disputes.
1. Cost & Budget Management
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Track variations, additional works, material costs, and contractor claims.
- Support cost-control initiatives and identify opportunities for efficient resource utilization.
- Review project expenditure and provide regular cost/progress updates to management.
- Ensure financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
1. Contractor & Consultant Management
- Manage and coordinate contractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and other project partners.
- Monitor contractor performance against contractual commitments.
- Review work quality, productivity, timelines, and resource deployment.
- Conduct coordination meetings and ensure timely closure of action points.
- Assist in resolving contractual, technical, commercial, and execution-related issues.
1. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure civil works comply with approved specifications, drawings, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with quality and safety teams to maintain required standards.
- Ensure proper inspection, testing, documentation, and quality-control procedures.
- Monitor compliance with project safety requirements and organizational policies.
- Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained throughout the project.
1. Project Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, BOQs, work orders, measurements, bills, approvals, and progress reports.
- Prepare MIS and management reports covering project progress, cost, timelines, risks, and key milestones.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project status and critical issues.
- Maintain records of variations, approvals, contractor correspondence, and project closure documents.
1. Project Handover & Closure
- Ensure timely completion and handover of projects.
- Coordinate snag-list preparation and closure.
- Ensure completion documentation, as-built drawings, certificates,
warranties, and other relevant records are obtained.
- Coordinate final measurements, final bills, and commercial closure of projects.
- Ensure smooth transition of completed facilities to the concerned operations/maintenance teams.

Educational Qualifications
Essential:
- B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
Preferred:
- M.Tech / MBA / PG qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications in project/construction management will be an advantage.
Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have:
- 19–25 years of overall experience in Civil Engineering / Construction / Infrastructure Project Management.
- Strong experience in end-to-end project planning and execution .
- Demonstrated experience in project billing, bill verification, certification, and clearance .
- Solid understanding of BOQs, measurements, RA bills, final bills, variations, and contractor claims.
- Experience managing large-scale institutional, commercial, campus, infrastructure, or similar construction projects.
- Strong exposure to contractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Strong leadership capability with the ability to drive teams and ensure project deliverables.
