At the University, research is an important means of understanding the complex challenges of our society. Our work spans a wide range of disciplines from education, livelihoods, development, environment, and public health to the fundamental advancement of science and mathematics. Research at the University is supported by both internal grants and external government and non-governmental funding. We invite applications from candidates who can manage grants from the science and social science disciplines.
Responsibilities:
1. Pre-award support:
- Identify suitable funding opportunities from national and international agencies.
- Enable grant writing workshops.
- Ensure proposals comply with university requirements and funding agencies.
1. Post- award management
- Coordinate project initiation with the finance team.
- Ensure compliance with funder requirements and ethical approvals.
- Coordinate generation of UC/SE in consultation with finance team.
1. Research administration
- Maintain records of grants and funding statistics across campuses.
- Develop standard operating procedures for grant management.
- Assist in research audits and compliance reviews.
- Help with internal grants management and administration when required.
Requirements
- An advanced degree in Sciences with experience in grant management
- High attention to detail and strong execution discipline
- Ability to work in collaboration with teams in various functions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
