ROLE SUMMARY The Assistant Manager – Production (Harness) is responsible for coordinating and supervising wire harness and cable assembly manufacturing operations. The role ensures efficient production of harness assemblies in compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards while meeting delivery schedules.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•Assist the Production Head in managing harness assembly line operations

•Plan daily work orders, manpower allocation, and material flow for the harness line

•Monitor production targets, cycle times, and efficiency for harness assemblies

•Ensure assemblies are built in compliance with routing sheets, wiring diagrams, and crimp specifications

•Coordinate in-process quality checks including pull-force tests, continuity tests, and visual inspections

•Train and develop supervisors and operators in crimping, stripping, routing, and lacing

•Maintain production records, rejection logs, and NCR documentation

•Identify and resolve production issues related to crimping defects, connector failures,



and dimensional errors

•Collaborate with engineering for design changes, engineering change orders (ECO), and first-article builds

•Ensure 5S standards and safety compliance on the harness production floor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

•3–6 years of experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing

•Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and harness assembly documentation

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

•Thorough knowledge of harness assembly processes including crimping, stripping, and routing

•Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and harness drawings

•Knowledge of crimping machine setup and qualification

•Team leadership and operator training skills

•Good documentation and production reporting skills

•Problem-solving capability for assembly and quality issues

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)

•Harness line output vs. scheduled production

•Crimping and assembly defect rate

•First-time-right percentage on continuity testing

•On-time completion of work orders

•Operator skills certification progress
