ABOUT THE ROLE
Protech Engineers is seeking Production Engineers to manage and supervise manufacturing activities for hygienic SS process machinery and equipment. The role requires hands-on experience in SS fabrication, production planning, manpower coordination,
quality control and timely project delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and execute daily production and fabrication activities as per project schedules.
Supervise SS fabrication, assembly and equipment manufacturing activities.
¢ Coordinate manpower, welders, fabricators and workshop resources for planned production.
¢ Read and interpret GA drawings, fabrication drawings and engineering specifications.
¢ Monitor fabrication of hygienic process equipment, tanks, vessels, piping and related components.
¢ Coordinate TIG welding and SS fabrication activities to maintain required workmanship.
¢ Monitor production progress, material utilization and job-wise completion status.
¢ Coordinate with Design, Purchase, Stores and Project teams for drawings, materials and priorities.
¢ Ensure fabrication quality, dimensional accuracy, finishing and compliance with approved drawings.
¢ Identify and resolve production and fabrication issues to avoid project delays.
¢ Maintain production records, progress reports, inspection records and material requirements.
¢ Support inspection, testing, dispatch and site-related requirements when required.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
¢ Practical experience with SS 304 / SS 316 fabrication and hygienic equipment manufacturing.
¢ Valuable understanding of TIG welding, fabrication, fit-up, grinding and finishing practices.
¢ Knowledge of process tanks, vessels, equipment, piping and hygienic fabrication requirements.
¢ Ability to read engineering drawings, dimensions, BOMs and fabrication details.
¢ Understanding of workshop production planning and manpower allocation.
¢ Good knowledge of material identification, utilization and fabrication sequence.
¢ Basic understanding of quality inspection and dimensional control.
¢ Good MS Excel / production reporting and documentation skills.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
¢ Minimum 2 years of relevant production / fabrication experience.
¢ Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
¢ Hands-on experience in an SS fabrication workshop is strongly preferred.
¢ Experience with dairy, food, pharma, beverage or process equipment is an advantage.
¢ Strong shop-floor coordination and problem-solving ability.
¢ Responsible, disciplined, result-oriented and comfortable working with production teams.
¢ Able to work under project schedules and coordinate with multiple departments.
SELECTION / PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT
Practical discussion / assessment covering SS fabrication, TIG welding, drawing interpretation, production planning, manpower coordination and resolution of shop-floor fabrication problems.
