Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Production Designer (AutoCAD & 3D SketchUp) to join our Events Division. The role involves translating creative event concepts into detailed, visually compelling and technically executable designs for corporate events, exhibitions, conferences, award shows, brand activations and experiential environments.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AutoCAD and SketchUp, combined with a practical understanding of spatial planning, materials, fabrication, event structures and on-ground execution.
The candidate will work closely with the Concept, Creative, Client Servicing, Production and Operations teams to take designs from initial concept through detailed drawings, fabrication and final execution.
Key Responsibilities1.
Event
Design & 3D Visualisation
- Translate client briefs, creative concepts and event requirements into detailed spatial designs.
- Develop 3D SketchUp models for stages, exhibition stalls, booths, installations, experience zones, lounges, entry structures and event environments.
- Create multiple design options based on the brief, venue, budget and execution requirements.
- Develop spatial layouts that balance aesthetics, functionality, guest movement and execution feasibility.
- Create 3D visuals and perspectives for internal reviews, client presentations and pitch decks.
- Understand and interpret venue plans, dimensions, photographs and site conditions.
2. AutoCAD & Technical Drawings
- Prepare detailed AutoCAD plans, elevations, sections, layouts and working drawings.
- Develop accurate technical and fabrication drawings with dimensions, levels, materials and specifications.
- Prepare execution-ready drawings that can be clearly understood by fabricators, vendors and production teams.
- Develop detailed drawings for stages, booths, exhibition structures, branding elements, installations and experience zones.
- Ensure drawings account for scale, proportions, clearances, sightlines, access and venue restrictions.
- Incorporate design changes and revisions accurately and within timelines.
3. Event & Spatial DesignDesign and detail a variety of event environments, including:
- Stages and stage backdrops
- LED and screen structures
- Exhibition booths and stalls
- Entry arches and gateways
- Registration areas
- Experience zones
- Lounges and networking areas
- Product display areas
- Branding structures
- Décor and installation elements
4. Materials & Fabrication
- Develop a strong understanding of event materials, finishes, fabrication techniques and construction methods.
- Translate creative designs into practical and fabrication-friendly solutions.
- Recommend suitable materials and construction approaches based on design intent, budget and execution requirements.
- Understand the practical limitations of temporary event structures.
- Coordinate with fabricators and vendors to resolve technical and design-related queries.
- Support the production team with material details, dimensions and basic quantity requirements wherever required.
5. Production & On-Ground Execution
- Work closely with Production and Operations teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and execution-ready.
- Participate in venue visits and site measurements when required.
- Coordinate with fabricators, vendors and production teams during fabrication and installation.
- Visit workshops/sites during fabrication and event setup where required.
- Make practical design modifications based on venue conditions, fabrication limitations and onsite requirements.
- Ensure the final execution remains aligned with the approved design intent.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Concept, Creative, Client Servicing, Production and Operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the Concept and Creative teams in developing spatial solutions for pitches and presentations.
- Understand project budgets and timelines while developing design solutions.
- Participate in brainstorming and design discussions to provide technically viable inputs.
- Take ownership of design deliverables and ensure timely completion.
7. Project & File Management
- Manage multiple projects and design requirements simultaneously.
- Work efficiently within tight event timelines and changing project requirements.
- Maintain organised CAD files, SketchUp models, references and drawing versions.
- Ensure all drawings and 3D models are updated and shared with the relevant teams/vendors on time.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across all project documentation.
Software SkillsMandatory:

- V-Ray / Lumion or other rendering software
- Adobe Photoshop

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of event, set and spatial design.
- Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Strong knowledge of 2D drafting and 3D modelling.
- Positive understanding of scale, dimensions, proportions and spatial planning.
- Knowledge of stages, truss, LED structures, exhibition systems, booths and temporary installations.
- Practical knowledge of materials, fabrication and finishing techniques.
- Ability to convert creative concepts into technically feasible and execution-ready designs.
- Strong visualisation and spatial reasoning skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and design adaptation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across creative and execution teams.
Experience & Qualification
- 4–8 years of relevant qualified experience in event design, set design, exhibition design, interior design, architecture, spatial design, experiential design or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in AutoCAD and SketchUp, with the ability to independently develop designs and detailed technical drawings.
- Prior experience with an event agency, experiential agency, exhibition company, production house, fabrication company or similar setting will be preferred.
- Proven experience designing and detailing stages, exhibition booths, brand activations, installations, experience zones, conferences, award shows and corporate events.
- Experience preparing execution-ready working drawings, fabrication drawings, plans, elevations and sections.
- Practical understanding of materials, fabrication methods, construction detailing and onsite execution.
- Experience coordinating directly with production teams, fabricators, vendors and onsite teams.
- Ability to independently manage design requirements, revisions and project deliverables.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating event, spatial, set or experiential design work is required.
- Diploma/Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Spatial Design, Event Design, Fine Arts or a related discipline is preferred.
