Purchase & Sourcing Manager – B2B Procurement / Vendor Development

About the Company
We are a B2B supply company catering to large corporate clients across India. Our product portfolio includes housekeeping supplies, stationery, pantry supplies, consumables and other workplace requirements, with a product catalogue of approximately 2,000+ SKUs.
A significant portion of our portfolio consists of non-branded/private-label products, requiring direct sourcing from local manufacturers, OEMs and specialized suppliers.
We are looking for an experienced Purchase & Sourcing Manager who can take ownership of procurement, vendor development, sourcing, commercial negotiations and supply continuity across a large and diverse SKU portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Sourcing
* Manage end-to-end procurement for a portfolio of 2,000+ SKUs.
- Source products from manufacturers, OEMs, distributors, wholesalers and regional suppliers.
- Identify the most competitive source based on price, quality, MOQ, lead time and supply reliability.
- Develop alternate suppliers for critical and high-volume products.
- Handle both branded and non-branded/unbranded products.
2. Vendor Development
* Identify and onboard local manufacturers and OEMs across India.
- Develop suppliers for products where no established brand is required.
- Work directly with manufacturers to develop products as per company/client specifications.
- Evaluate vendors on pricing, manufacturing capability, quality, capacity, MOQ and delivery performance.
- Maintain a strong supplier network across different product categories and geographies.
3. Price Negotiation & Cost Optimization
* Negotiate purchase prices, MOQ, payment terms, freight and other commercial terms.
- Conduct regular price benchmarking and market checks.
- Identify opportunities for direct-from-manufacturer sourcing.
- Reduce procurement costs through vendor consolidation, volume negotiations and alternate sourcing.
- Maintain competitive landed costs for products supplied to large corporate customers.
4. Large SKU / Inventory Management
* Monitor procurement requirements across a large SKU base.
- Coordinate with sales, operations and inventory teams to ensure product availability.
- Plan purchases based on demand, stock levels, lead times and order requirements.
- Avoid both stock-outs and unnecessary inventory accumulation.
- Identify slow-moving and non-moving SKUs and work on corrective procurement strategies.
1. OEM & Customized Product Sourcing
* Coordinate with OEMs for customized products, packaging and specifications.
- Obtain quotations, samples, technical specifications and production timelines.
- Coordinate product development from sample approval through commercial production.
- Ensure OEMs meet agreed quality, packaging and delivery requirements.
1. Supplier Performance Management
* Track vendor performance on:
- Price
- Quality
- Delivery timelines
- Fill rate
- MOQ
- Rejection/return rate
- Responsiveness
- Develop corrective actions for poor-performing vendors.
- Maintain robust relationships with strategic suppliers.
1. Purchase Operations
* Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
- Raise and manage purchase orders.
- Follow up on pending orders and expected delivery dates.
- Coordinate with accounts for commercial/payment-related issues.
- Ensure procurement documentation and vendor records are maintained accurately.
- Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams for inbound deliveries.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated experience in high-SKU procurement environments, rather than candidates who have worked with only a small number of standardized products.
Must Have
- 5–10 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement / Sourcing.
- Experience handling 500+ SKUs, preferably 1,000+ SKUs.
- Strong experience in vendor development and supplier sourcing.
- Experience dealing directly with manufacturers and OEMs.
- Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Experience sourcing unbranded, private-label or customized products.
- Strong understanding of MOQ, lead time, landed cost, payment terms and freight economics.
- Good Excel skills and ability to work with large SKU/vendor datasets.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Ability to independently identify new suppliers and develop alternate sources.

The role requires someone who is hands-on, commercially strong, highly organized and comfortable managing a large number of products and suppliers simultaneously. Pay: ₹10,024.01 - ₹32,609.89 per month
