About Avendus Future Leaders Fund

Avendus Future Leaders Fund (FLF) is a private equity fund focused on investing in best-in-class, growth and late-stage private companies across sectors.

Role Overview The Industrial Trainee will be part of the core FLF investment team and will work closely with the deal team across end-to-end investment evaluation and execution process. The role will provide exposure to live private equity transactions, with a focus on industry research, competitive benchmarking, investment analysis, due diligence and transaction-related work.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with the investment team on evaluation of new investment opportunities, including understanding the target company’s business model, industry dynamics, competitive positioning, growth drivers and key investment considerations
- Assist the investment team in sourcing and identifying relevant companies
- Conduct industry and market research, including market sizing, growth trends, competitive landscape, industry structure and relevant regulatory developments
- Perform competitive benchmarking of target companies against relevant peers across financial and operating metrics
- Support the deal team in financial analysis and valuation, including valuation benchmarking and transaction analysis
- Support commercial, financial and other due diligence workstreams, including preparing analysis and coordinating inputs from internal and external advisors / subject matter experts




- Prepare Investment Committee materials, company profiles, industry deep-dives, transaction analyses, briefing documents and other deal-related presentations
- Track and analyse key developments across sectors and companies relevant to the fund’s investment themes and pipeline
- Support the investment team in developing investment theses, identifying key risks and formulating diligence questions for prospective investments
- Assist the fund leadership and investment team with ad-hoc strategic and analytical projects related to investments and fund initiatives

Experience & Skills Required

- CA Industrial Trainee with prior experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A; advisory, valuations, FDD or a similar transaction-oriented role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work with large datasets and develop insights from quantitative and qualitative information
- Strong interest in businesses, industries and investing, with an ability to understand and articulate key business drivers
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with using databases like Cap IQ, private circle will be an advantage
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Should be a self-starter with high energy, robust attention to detail, ownership mindset and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a lean investment team and manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines
