Position: Private Chef (In-Home)

Location: Mumbai (client residences — South Mumbai, Bandra, Juhu, Worli and surrounding areas)

Employment Type: Full-time, long-term placement (live-in or live-out, depending on the household)

Compensation: ₹50,000 – ₹1,50,000 per month, based on profile, culinary range and experience

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and versatile Private Chef to cook daily for a high-net-worth family in their Mumbai residence. You will own the household's kitchen end to end — planning menus, sourcing the finest ingredients, and delivering restaurant-quality meals tailored to the family's tastes, dietary needs and lifestyle. This is a role for a chef who takes pride in consistency, presentation and quiet professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks) as per the family's schedule and preferences

Design rotating weekly and monthly menus, keeping meals interesting, seasonal and nutritionally balanced

Cook for family events, dinners, festivals and small private gatherings hosted at the residence

Manage kitchen operations: inventory, sourcing, vendor relationships and hygiene standards





Source premium ingredients — fresh produce, specialty imports and quality meats/seafood — and manage the kitchen budget efficiently

Accommodate dietary requirements: vegetarian/Jain households, allergies, religious guidelines and doctor/adviser-directed plans

Maintain impeccable cleanliness, food safety and organisation in the client kitchen at all times

Travel with the family domestically (and internationally, where agreed) when required

Coordinate discreetly with household staff, estate managers and the family office where applicable

Culinary Expertise Required

Multi-cuisine proficiency: Indian (regional specialities), Continental, Asian and Mediterranean cooking

Fine-dining / gourmet presentation standards — plating, texture and flavour balance at a luxury-hotel level

Strong grounding in Indian regional cuisines — from Punjabi, Mughlai and Gujarati/Marwari to coastal, Konkani and South Indian cooking

Health-focused cooking: calorie-counted, macro-balanced, keto, paleo, ayurvedic and other physician/nutritionist-prescribed diets

Comfort with international techniques: grilling, baking, sous-vide, pasta-making, fermenting and garde manger

Requirements





Minimum 3 years of professional culinary experience — in 5-star hotels, fine-dining restaurants, luxury catering or private households

Prior experience as a private chef for HNI/UHNW families is a strong plus

Culinary degree or diploma (hotel management / culinary arts) preferred, though exceptional experience can substitute

Discretion, confidentiality and polished personal presentation — non-negotiable for this client base

Fluent communication in English and Hindi; Marathi or Gujarati is a bonus

Flexible with hours, including weekends and festival periods; comfortable in live-in arrangements (or open to live-out depending on the household)

Valid identity documents, background verification readiness and references from previous employers

Mumbai-based candidates or those willing to relocate to Mumbai preferred
