We are looking for a hands-on AI engineering expert and thought leader who lives and breathes building software with AI, not just talking about it.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, AI, consulting, and customer trust.

You will

- Go deep inside customer engineering organizations

- Conduct AI Maturity Scans through structured interviews and hands-on assessments

- Evaluate how enterprises use AI in engineering, AI in SDLC, and agentic workflows

- Produce opinionated, actionable transformation roadmaps

- Personally influence CTOs, CIOs, Heads of Engineering, and Product Leaders

- This is not a slideware role.

- This is a builder-advisor role.

AI Maturity Scans &
- Diagnostics (Core)

- Lead AI Engineering Maturity Assessments across customer organizations

- Design and run structured interviews with: Engineering leaders, Platform teams, DevOps / SRE, Product &
- Architecture teams

- Assess maturity across: AI usage in engineering workflows (coding, testing, reviews)

- AI in SDLC (planning, CI/CD, DevSecOps, SRE, AIOps)
- Agentic systems adoption (multi-agent workflows, autonomy, orchestration)

- Identify gaps, anti-patterns, and missed opportunities

- Benchmark customers against best-in-class global practices

Opinionated Recommendations &

- Roadmaps

- Translate assessments into: Clear maturity scores, Practical capability heatmaps, Actionable 90-day / 6-month / 12-month roadmaps

- Recommend: Where AI should not be used
- Where agentic workflows create disproportionate ROI
- Tooling, platforms, architectures, and governance models

- Be comfortable saying this is wrong and this is what valuable looks like

Hands-on AI Engineering &

- Architecture

- Actively build and prototype: AI-assisted engineering workflows
- Agentic systems for SDLC, DevOps, SRE, and platform teams

- Hands-on with: LLMs, agent frameworks, orchestration layers

- AI-augmented coding, testing, CI/CD pipelines

- Secure, enterprise-grade AI architectures

- Bridge code platform architecture outcomes

Customer-Facing Thought Leadership





- Act as a trusted advisor to CXO-level stakeholders

- Run workshops, deep-dives, and executive briefings

- Represent StatusNeo as an AI authority, not a vendor

- Partner with customers to co-create: AI strategy narratives, Engineering transformation stories, Comfortable being on the road, meeting customers globally

External &
- Internal Thought Leadership

- Write blogs, whitepapers, or internal playbooks

- Speak or aspire to speak at Industry conferences, Customer events, Closed-door CXO roundtables

- Contribute to StatusNeo's AI Maturity Index, Agentic AI frameworks, AI-led SDLC IP and accelerators

Requirements

Must-Have

- 414 years of real engineering experience

- Has personally: Written production code
- Built systems end-to-end
- Used AI daily in development workflows

- Deep understanding of: AI in engineering (not just ML theory)

- SDLC transformation
- Modern DevOps / Platform Engineering
- Strong communication skills can teach, challenge, and influence
- Opinionated, curious, and intellectually honest

Strongly Preferred

- Experience consulting or advising enterprise customers

- Exposure to: Agentic AI systems
- Multi-agent orchestration
- AI governance and guardrails

- Public footprint: Blogs, talks, GitHub, conference speaking, internal evangelism

- Comfort working directly with: CTOs, CIOs, Heads of Engineering, CDOs
