Responsibility -

1. Monitor the database buffer cache, hit ratio, CPU utilization, and memory utilization.
2. Identify bad performing queries and give it to the Application team for tuning.
3. Responsible for routine database maintenance tasks such as index rebuilds, statistics updates, and table reorganizations to improve performance
4. capacity planning and resource forecasting to support future growth and scalability needs.
5. Responsible to achieve maximum uptime for production Database server and reduce unplanned downtime.
6. Monitoring the database for capacity availability w.r.t. Disk capacity, tablespace capacity etc.
7. Implementation of service packs and hot fixes for security and performance improvement.
