PostgreSQL Developer Support Engineer with 58 years of experience in PostgreSQL development, administration, production support, performance tuning, backup recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions. Robust expertise in SQLPL-pgSQL, Linux, cloud platforms, and troubleshooting mission-critical database environments

Responsibilities

- Responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure PostgreSQL database schemas, including tables, views, indexes, and constraints.

- Develop advanced server-side logic using PLpgSQL, PLPerl, PLPython, custom functions, triggers, and stored procedures.

- Manage data migration, transformation, ETLELT, and replication strategies across environments.

- Proactively troubleshoot and optimize slow queries using EXPLAIN, EXPLAIN ANALYZE, and pg_stat_statements.

- Improve performance through indexing strategies such as B-Tree, GIN, and GiST,



storage optimization, memory tuning, and resolving concurrency, deadlock, and bloat issues.

- Collaborate with backend developers to review SQL queries, recommend best practices, and optimize ORM behavior.

- Establish database coding standards, support schema version control using Liquibase or Flyway, enable CICD database deployments, and assist DevOpsDBA teams with partitioning, sharding, and PgBouncer-based connection pooling.
