Job Summary The PLC/DCS Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating industrial process control systems through PLC, DCS, and SCADA platforms. The operator ensures safe and stable plant operation, monitors process parameters, responds to alarms, and coordinates with field and maintenance teams to resolve operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor PLC, DCS, and SCADA control systems from the control room.
- Monitor critical process parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow, level, and equipment status.
- Maintain process parameters within specified operating limits.
- Monitor system alarms, trips, interlocks, and equipment status.
- Take appropriate action during process abnormalities and equipment failures.
- Coordinate with field operators and instrumentation/electrical maintenance teams during breakdowns.
- Start, stop, and control plant equipment as per approved operating procedures.
- Monitor trends and identify abnormal process conditions.
- Perform routine checks of PLC/DCS control screens, communication status, and system health.
- Report instrumentation, PLC/DCS, communication, and control-system abnormalities to the concerned supervisor.
- Assist maintenance personnel during troubleshooting of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and field instruments.
- Maintain shift logs, operating records, alarm records, and equipment status reports.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), plant instructions, and safety requirements.
- Ensure proper communication and shift handover to the incoming operator.
- Support emergency operations and follow plant emergency procedures when required.




- Maintain valuable housekeeping and safe working practices in the control room.

Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of PLC, DCS, and SCADA operation.
- Understanding of process control and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of digital and analog signals, I/O systems, and basic instrumentation.
- Ability to understand P&ID;, process flow diagrams, and control-system graphics.
- Knowledge of alarms, interlocks, permissives, trips, and sequences.
- Basic understanding of control loops and PID parameters.
- Ability to identify abnormal trends and process conditions.
- Basic knowledge of industrial communication systems is preferred.

Qualification ITI / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, Automation, or a related technical trade.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in PLC/DCS operation in an industrial or process plant preferred.

Shift Duties

- Work in rotational shifts as required by plant operations.
- Ensure continuous monitoring of the process during the assigned shift.
- Maintain accurate shift records and provide proper handover to the next shift operator.

Safety Responsibilities
- Strictly follow plant safety rules and operating procedures.
- Follow permit-to-work, LOTO, and equipment isolation procedures wherever applicable.
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations as per approved procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE when entering field areas.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions and abnormal equipment/process conditions to the concerned supervisor.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
