Job Purpose To lead New Product Development (NPD), sheet metal production, tooling, process development, quality, cost and delivery activities. Responsible for smooth development and production of new parts from RFQ stage to successful SOP and regular production.

Key ResponsibilitiesNew Product Development (NPD)

- Handle complete NPD activities from RFQ, feasibility, costing and development to SOP.
- Review customer drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with customer, tooling, quality, production and purchase teams.
- Plan and monitor tool, fixture, gauge and process development.
- Conduct trials, identify issues and ensure timely correction.
- Prepare and maintain APQP, PPAP, process flow, PFMEA, control plan and other NPD documents.
- Ensure successful first-off, pilot and production trials.
- Monitor project timelines and ensure on-time SOP.

Sheet Metal / Press Shop

- Overall responsibility for press shop and sheet metal production.




- Plan production as per customer requirements and delivery schedules.
- Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, tools and raw material.
- Improve productivity, OEE, cycle time and machine utilization.
- Control rejection, rework, scrap and production losses.
- Ensure proper tool maintenance and tool life management.

Welding & Assembly

- Manage welding and assembly processes related to sheet metal components.
- Ensure proper process parameters, fixtures and work instructions.
- Improve welding productivity and reduce rejection/rework.
- Ensure line balancing and smooth production flow.

Qualifications

- Diploma / B.Tech / BE in Mechanical, Production or related engineering field.
- 7-10 years of experience in sheet metal, press shop, welding and NPD.
- Strong experience in automotive component manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of press tools, fixtures, sheet metal processes and welding.
- Experience in customer handling and NPD project management.
- Good knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan and Process Flow.
- Solid leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
