Job Purpose To ensure the secure, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications while maintaining high standards of patient safety, inventory management, regulatory compliance, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispense medicines accurately as per valid prescriptions and hospital protocols.
- Verify prescriptions for drug name, dosage, frequency, interactions, allergies, and potential medication errors.
- Provide appropriate information to patients regarding medication usage, dosage, storage, and precautions.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication-related queries.
- Maintain accurate records of medicines dispensed, returns, substitutions, and controlled drugs.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines as per temperature, expiry, and manufacturer requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and support timely replenishment of medicines and pharmacy supplies.
- Check medicines regularly for expiry, damaged packaging, and batch-related concerns.
- Follow procedures for handling high-alert, LASA (Look-Alike Sound-Alike), narcotic, and other restricted medicines.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, organization,



and proper arrangement of medicines.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, pharmacy regulations, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Participate in audits, quality initiatives, medication-safety programs, and inventory checks.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and prescription information.
- Support smooth functioning of the pharmacy during peak hours, emergencies, and shift operations.
- Report medication errors, discrepancies, adverse drug reactions, and other incidents through the appropriate channels.

Required Qualifications

- B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Pharmacy Council.
- Prior hospital/retail pharmacy experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations and medication safety.
