About the Role nTech OVN is looking for a practical and detail-oriented Hardware Design Engineer with hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, PCB development, board bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting.
nThe candidate should be capable of taking a hardware product from design requirements through schematic development, PCB layout, manufacturing documentation, prototype testing, compliance testing, and production readiness.
Key Responsibilities n
n
- Capture and document hardware design requirements.
n
- Develop electronic schematics using Altium Designer .
n
- Perform schematic review and circuit simulation.
n
- Design multilayer PCB layouts while following EMI/EMC, signal-integrity, grounding, isolation, and thermal-management guidelines.
n
- Design boards according to applicable IPC standards .
n
- Carry out PCB Design for Manufacturing and Assembly—DFM and DFA .
n
- Prepare complete manufacturing documentation, including:
n
- Gerber and fabrication files
n
- Assembly files
n
- Bill of Materials
n
- Pick-and-place/SMT data
n
- Stencil data
n
- Silkscreen details
n
- PCB manufacturing guidelines
n
- Nodal test-point information
n
- Coordinate with PCB manufacturers, component suppliers, and SMT assembly teams.
n
- Perform board bring-up, functional testing, debugging, and design validation.
n
- Troubleshoot circuit, component, communication, EMI/EMC, and manufacturing-related issues.
n
- Support product type testing, reliability testing, and compliance testing.
n
- Incorporate improvements identified during prototype development and testing.
n
- Design boards to meet 35 kV immunity and RF jammer compliance requirements , wherever applicable.
n

Component-Level Knowledge nThe candidate should be familiar with the selection and application of components such as:

- Microcontrollers and processors
n
- SMPS controller ICs
n
- LDO regulators
n
- Operational amplifiers
n
- Communication and wireless modules
n
- Capacitors, including electrolytic capacitors
n
- X1, X2, Y1, and Y2 safety capacitors
n
- MOVs, TVS diodes, and surge-protection components
n
- Relays, optocouplers, isolation components, and interface ICs
n
- Connectors, magnetic components, and other PCB-level electronic components
n
Preferred Candidate Profile n
n
- Strong practical understanding of electronic hardware rather than only theoretical knowledge.
n
- Experience developing industrial, IoT, energy-monitoring, communication, or embedded electronic products.
n
- Ability to independently debug prototypes using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment.
n
- Understanding of component selection, availability, lifecycle, alternates, and cost optimisation.
n
- Valuable documentation and cross-functional coordination skills.
n
- Ownership-oriented approach with the ability to take designs from concept to production.
