Job Title: SQL Developer

Job Type: Contract 6 months

Location: Mumbai

Job Summary

We are looking for a SQL Developer to design and build an internal resource financial tracking tool for the BP&A; team. The tool will enable Delivery Managers to monitor resource cost overruns, employee-level margin, and rotation requirements and log corrective actions that flow through a supervisor approval workflow. The developer will work end-to-end: from requirement gathering through development, testing, and handover, working closely with the BP&A; team and COO Office.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirement Understanding & Documentation

- Conduct walkthroughs of the existing tool and current Excel-based processes with the BP&A; team to establish a clear as-is baseline
- Engage with BP&A; stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and document functional and data requirements
- Prepare a High-Level Requirement Document covering data flows, role-based access, screen-level functionality, and approval workflows; obtain formal sign-off before development begins

2. Data Engineering & Backend Development

- Design and implement upload procedures to ingest Excel outputs from source systems (SFDC, QUEST, NetSuite) into the database
- Write SQL scripts to cleanse, transform, and join data from multiple sources to derive required outputs including resource cost, billing rates, margin calculations, and rotation flags





Required Skills & Qualifications Technical (Must-Have)

- Strong proficiency in SQL complex queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, and performance tuning
- Experience with Excel-to-database ingestion pipelines (handling varied formats, data validation on upload)
- Front-end development experience — ability to build functional, data-driven web interfaces (PHP/Python/Node.js or similar stack connecting to an SQL backend)
- Hands-on experience with relational database management
- Ability to design and implement role-based access control (RBAC) at the application layer

Technical (Good to Have)

- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI preferred) for potential dashboard integration
- Experience with REST APIs for connecting front-end screens to backend data
- Basic understanding of financial metrics — billing, cost, margin — in a service’s/staffing context

Soft Skills

- Solid structured thinking — ability to translate business needs into a clean data and application design
- Proactive communicator; able to manage ambiguity during requirement discovery
- Detail-oriented with a disciplined approach to testing and documentation

Experience

- 3–5 years of relevant experience in SQL development and application-layer front-end development
- Prior experience in an IT services, staffing, or project-based delivery organisation is a plus
