Role Description The On-ground Reporter Intern (Lucknow) will be responsible for daily field reporting, including identifying newsworthy events, gathering information on-site, and conducting interviews with local residents, officials, and stakeholders. The intern will capture video, audio, and photo content from the ground, providing accurate and timely updates that reflect real-time conditions and community perspectives.
Responsibilities include writing clear, concise news reports and story scripts, coordinating with editors and producers, and adhering to KRAM TV’s verification and ethical journalism standards. This is a full time role requiring close collaboration with the core newsroom team.
The position is on-site and based in Noida, with frequent on-ground reporting assignments in Lucknow and nearby areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Field Reporting: Cover daily political movements, rallies, press conferences, and election updates across key political hubs in Lucknow (CM House, Vidhan Sabha, party headquarters, etc.).
- On-Camera Interviews: Conduct sharp, bold, and direct Q&As; asking tough, unscripted questions to both ruling party leaders and opposition figures.
- On-Ground Operations: Coordinate daily field shoots, vox pops, and breaking news updates.
- Production Coordination: Partner with a videographer/cameraperson for field coverage.
Requirements
- Based in or comfortably able to commute within Lucknow.
- Strong interest in UP and Indian politics with a firm grasp of regional political dynamics.
- Bold, confident on-camera presence with strong communication skills in Hindi (English is a plus).
- Ability to ask sharp, unbiased, and hard-hitting questions on the spot.
- Ability to bring or arrange a camera person/videographer for field shoots (paid extra by the network).
