Vintage Care Home by Zorgers is building a new benchmark in senior living by combining healthcare, companionship, dignity and hospitality. Our residents don't simply stay with us—they become part of our extended family.

We are looking for a Nursing & Resident Care In-Charge who will take responsibility for the clinical care, resident wellbeing, elder engagement, nursing team and day-to-day care operations at the facility.

This is a residential role for someone who believes that caring for seniors goes beyond medical treatment—it is about creating a safe, active, meaningful and dignified life for every resident.

Eligibility

Essential Qualifications

* B.Sc. Nursing – Preferred

- GNM
- BAMS

Experience

* Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience.

- Experience in hospitals, critical care, elderly care, rehabilitation centres, assisted living or similar healthcare settings.
- Previous experience supervising nursing teams, caregivers or patient-care operations will be preferred.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of:
- Nursing procedures
- Medication management
- Vital monitoring
- Patient/resident care protocols

- Clinical documentation
- Infection control and safety practices

Role Summary

The Nursing & Resident Care In-Charge will be responsible for ensuring the overall health, safety, wellbeing and quality of life of residents at Vintage Care Home. The role combines clinical supervision, nursing coordination, elder engagement, resident care, family communication and day-to-day care-home operations.

The In-Charge will ensure that residents receive not only appropriate medical care, but also meaningful companionship, engagement and a fulfilling daily routine.

This is a hands-on role requiring regular interaction with residents, caregivers, nurses, doctors and families.

Key Responsibilities

1. Nursing & Medical Supervision

* Oversee the overall health and medical wellbeing of all residents.

- Conduct regular resident health rounds and monitor changes in health conditions.
- Ensure proper medication administration as per prescribed instructions.
- Ensure medication charts and clinical records are maintained accurately.
- Monitor vital signs and relevant health parameters.
- Identify changes in a resident's condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Coordinate with doctors, consultants, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Schedule and coordinate medical consultations whenever required.
- Ensure proper follow-up of medical advice and treatment plans.
- Respond calmly and effectively during medical emergencies.
- Coordinate appropriately during hospital visits, admissions and discharges.
- Guide caregivers and nursing staff regarding resident-specific care requirements.
- Ensure proper handovers and continuity of care.

2. Elder Engagement & Resident Wellbeing

A key responsibility of the Nursing & Resident Care In-Charge is to ensure that residents remain socially, mentally and physically engaged.

- Prepare and implement a structured daily and weekly elder engagement plan.
- Organise activities such as:
- Indoor games
- Music and singing
- Storytelling
- Group discussions
- Memory-based activities
- Art and creative activities
- Exercise and movement sessions
- Movie and entertainment sessions
- Festival celebrations
- Birthday celebrations
- Themed social activities
- Encourage residents to participate according to their interests, abilities and comfort levels.
- Spend meaningful time with residents and understand their individual interests and preferences.
- Identify residents who may be socially withdrawn and proactively engage with them.
- Encourage interaction and companionship among residents.




- Create opportunities for residents to share their stories, experiences, skills and memories.
- Ensure birthdays, festivals and special occasions are celebrated meaningfully.
- Maintain a warm, positive and engaging atmosphere within the care home.
- Ensure residents feel heard, respected, valued and included.

3. Resident Care & Experience

* Build meaningful relationships with residents and understand their individual needs.
- Ensure residents receive personalised and dignified care.
- Understand resident routines, preferences, dietary requirements and care needs.
- Monitor the overall resident experience on a daily basis.
- Address resident concerns promptly and empathetically.
- Ensure resident privacy, dignity and personal choices are respected.
- Support residents in maintaining independence wherever appropriate.
- Ensure the care home feels like a home and community rather than a clinical facility.
- Observe residents' physical, emotional and social wellbeing and communicate concerns appropriately.

4. Family Communication & Coordination

* Build positive and trustworthy relationships with residents' families.
- Act as a key point of contact for resident care and day-to-day wellbeing.
- Communicate important health-related developments to families appropriately.
- Coordinate family visits and address resident-related concerns.
- Provide families with relevant updates regarding changes in health, routine or wellbeing.
- Handle family concerns with empathy, professionalism and ownership.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality of resident information.
- Escalate significant concerns to the management team when required.

5. Nursing & Caregiver Team Supervision

* Supervise nurses, caregivers and other care staff.
- Assist in preparing and managing duty rosters and manpower deployment.
- Ensure appropriate staff allocation based on resident needs.
- Conduct regular team briefings and handovers.
- Monitor staff attendance, discipline, grooming and conduct.
- Guide team members regarding resident-specific care requirements.
- Train and mentor caregivers and nursing staff on care standards and procedures.
- Ensure staff follow clinical, operational and resident-care SOPs.
- Monitor the quality of care being provided by the team.
- Identify performance gaps and communicate them to management.
- Build a culture of accountability, compassion, discipline and teamwork.

6. Daily Care Home Operations

* Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the care home.
- Plan and supervise the daily routine of residents.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance and other support teams.
- Ensure residents receive meals on time and individual dietary requirements are followed.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
- Ensure resident rooms and common areas are maintained appropriately.
- Coordinate admissions, discharges and resident transitions.
- Ensure operational SOPs are followed consistently.
- Identify operational gaps and take timely corrective action.
- Ensure the overall environment remains safe, welcoming and resident-friendly.

7. Quality, Safety & Compliance

* Ensure compliance with nursing and resident-care SOPs.
- Maintain accurate clinical and operational documentation.
- Conduct regular quality and safety checks.
- Ensure proper infection-control and hygiene practices.
- Monitor emergency preparedness and response procedures.
- Ensure appropriate handling and documentation of incidents.
- Monitor medication management and clinical records.




- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain high standards of resident safety, dignity and care.
- Support continuous improvement of care-home processes and service quality.

- Interaction with residents.
- Supervision of nursing and caregiver teams.
- Coordination with doctors and healthcare professionals.
- Monitoring meals, hygiene and daily routines.
- Conducting or supervising elder engagement activities.
- Communication with families when required.
- Team briefing and handover.
- Reviewing documentation and quality standards.
- Addressing resident-care or operational issues.
- Ensuring smooth continuity of care throughout the day.

Work Structure

This is a live-in residential position. The Nursing & Resident Care In-Charge will be provided:

- Comfortable accommodation by the organisation.
- Meals by the organisation.

The position is based on ownership of resident care and continuity of operations, rather than a conventional shift-only approach.

The individual is expected to remain reasonably accessible for operational guidance and emergency support whenever required.
