Role & responsibilities

:

We are looking for an experienced Mission Expert to serve as the single point of contact (SPOC) for end-to-end mission design, orbit trade studies, mission analysis, and Concept of Operations (ConOps) for our micro-satellite platforms (150500 kg class) and earth observation/defense constellations. This role bridges payload requirements, satellite bus hardware capabilities, launch vehicle interfaces, and ground operations to guarantee overall mission success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, optimize, and evaluate operational orbits (LEO, SSO, inclined) for EO/IR, SAR, and ELINT payloads to meet revisit times, resolution, and ground coverage specifications
- Formulate mission-level Delta-V budgets, orbit maintenance strategies, collision avoidance protocols, and end-of-life (EOL) de-orbit maneuvers
- Define and draft comprehensive ConOps for normal, commissioning, secure-mode, and tactical payload operation modes
- Establish timelines for payload data capture, memory dump/SSR management, ground station visibility windows, and downlink scheduling
- Act as internal Mission SPOC, collaborating with AOCS, Integrated Avionics/OBC, Structure, Power, and Payload domain experts
- Work closely with launch service providers (ISRO/IN-SPACe/commercial providers)



to define launch vehicle interfaces, trajectory profiles, and separation dynamics
- Lead design of ground-to-space operational protocols, TM/TC database structures, and flight procedure documents
- Oversee In-Orbit Testing (IOT), subsystem commissioning, and routine flight dynamics operations

Preferred candidate profile

Required Skills:

- Deep understanding of orbital mechanics, perturbations, station-keeping, and launch vehicle injection errors
- Strong knowledge of space systems integration, ground station operations (ISTRAC/commercial networks), and space situational awareness
- Hands-on experience with defense intelligence, earth observation, or RF/ELINT mission profiles
- Proficiency in mission simulation/trajectory analysis tools: STK (Systems Tool Kit), FreeFlyer, GMAT, MATLAB/Simulink, or custom orbit propagators
