ABOUT THIS ROLE
We make in China and in India, and we carry roughly sixty days between paying for inventory and selling it. That number is the single most expensive fact about our business. Every week a shipment slips, every carton that arrives wrong, every clearance that stalls at customs, comes straight out of it.
This role exists to protect that. You will work directly , who owns supplier sourcing and production, and you will run the tracking layer underneath him. Where every open order actually is, against where it was promised. What is needed for it to clear customs and land at the Delhi office. What we check before we accept it. When something is going to be late, you are the person who knows first and says so early, while there is still time to do something about it.
It is a detail role and it is unglamorous, and it is also the job that decides whether 125 SKUs are on the shelf when a campaign goes live. You should be the kind of person who finds a quiet satisfaction in a clean checklist and an honest tracker.
What you'll own
- The live production tracker across every open order, India and China, against committed dates
- Import and compliance documentation. Invoices, packing lists, BOE, HS classification, customs paperwork, and the coordination that gets a container cleared without a scramble
- The QC protocol.
Building the inspection checklist per product, running pre-dispatch and inward checks,
and holding the line when a batch does not meet it
- Defect logging and the loop back to the supplier, so the same fault does not arrive twice
- Packaging and consumables availability alongside , so a finished good never waits on a box
- The weekly production status report the founders and the warehouse plan against
- Inward coordination with operations team, so what lands is what the system expects
What we're looking for
- 3 to 6 years in production, merchandising, sourcing or supply chain for a physical product brand. Bags, leather goods, accessories, hard goods or apparel
- You have tracked live orders against dates and chased suppliers who were slipping. This is the core of the job
- Working knowledge of Indian import: customs documentation, duty, HS codes, freight forwarders, clearance timelines
- You can write and run a QC checklist, and you are comfortable rejecting a batch
- Genuinely solid in Excel or Sheets. Trackers, pivots, reconciliation
- Organised, direct, and hard to fluster.
Suppliers will tell you what you want to hear, and you will need to check
Nice to have
- You have worked with Chinese suppliers and know how that communication actually goes
- Experience with an ERP or inventory system such as Unicommerce
- You have been part of moving production from one country to another
