JOB PROFILE – HEAD OF LABORATORY

Position: Head of Laboratory

Location: Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Hospital, Agali, Attappady, Palakkad

Experience: Minimum 5 Years

Employment: Full-Time

Qualifications

- Degree/Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant hospital/diagnostic laboratory experience.
- Valid Para-Medical Council / State Paramedical Council Registration is mandatory.
- Experience in a supervisory or laboratory in-charge position is preferred.
- Knowledge of NABH/quality standards will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
- Overall supervision and management of laboratory operations.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and quality laboratory investigations and reports.
- Supervise laboratory technicians and prepare duty allocation/rosters.
- Ensure proper sample collection, processing, storage, and disposal.
- Maintain SOPs, quality-control records, equipment records, and statutory documentation.
- Monitor laboratory equipment, reagents,



consumables, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with infection-control and laboratory safety protocols.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and other hospital departments.
- Handle critical-value reporting and ensure timely communication to concerned doctors.
- Identify staff training needs and monitor staff performance.
- Support hospital quality initiatives and accreditation requirements.
- Prepare periodic laboratory performance and operational reports for management.

Salary: As per qualification and experience. Pay: ₹9,849.65 - ₹25,376.74 per month
