Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.

- Monitor the condition and performance of production machines and identify potential mechanical failures before breakdowns occur.

- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as mixers, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, filling/packing machines and other food-processing equipment.

- Ensure maximum availability and reliability of machinery to support uninterrupted production.

- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, ETP, Electrical and Administration teams for smooth plant operations.

- Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown records, machine history cards and other maintenance documentation.

- Ensure timely availability of spare parts, tools, lubricants and maintenance materials and coordinate with vendors/suppliers whenever required.

- Supervise technicians, maintenance workers and contract manpower during repair and maintenance activities.

- Inspect machines after maintenance and ensure proper functioning before handing them over to the Production Department.

- Assist in the installation, commissioning and modification of new machinery and plant equipment.

- Coordinate with machine manufacturers/OEMs and external service providers for major repairs, servicing and technical support.

- Monitor mechanical utilities including air compressors, pumps, pipelines, water systems and other plant utilities, as applicable.

- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with applicable GMP, GHP, HACCP and food-safety requirements,



particularly where equipment maintenance can affect food safety.

- Ensure machinery, equipment and maintenance areas are kept clean and do not create contamination or foreign-material risks in the food production environment.

- Follow all plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, work-permit procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices during maintenance work.

- Analyze recurring machine breakdowns and implement root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

- Maintain proper records of maintenance costs, machine downtime, spare-parts consumption and major repair activities.

- Support energy-saving and cost-reduction initiatives related to machinery and plant utilities.

- Assist in plant expansion, machinery replacement, layout changes and engineering improvement projects.

- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and within the required production schedule.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may be considered based on relevant experience.

- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and manufacturing plant operations.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing/food/FMCG/process industry preferred.

- Freshers with strong technical knowledge may be considered for junior-level positions.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
