Role Summary

We invite applications from motivated candidates for the position of Mechanical Design Intern to support mechanical design, 3D modelling, drafting, prototyping, and design documentation activities for medical device and electronic product development projects.

The role involves understanding design requirements, creating 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, supporting enclosure and assembly design, coordinating with fabrication and manufacturing vendors, assisting in prototype build and testing, and maintaining design documentation for R&D; projects.

Freshers and candidates with 0–2 years of experience with a strong interest in product design, mechanical engineering, and CAD tools are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand design requirements from product specifications, concept inputs, and project plans.
- Create detailed 3D models of parts, enclosures, assemblies, and fixtures using industry-standard CAD software, including Autodesk Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, DesignSpark Mechanical, and CorelDRAW.

- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings with dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and applicable notes.
- Support enclosure design for electronic products,



including component fitment, mounting features, cable routing, and serviceability.
- Coordinate with fabrication vendors for 3D printing, sheet metal, machining, and moulded parts.
- Support prototype building, fit checks, and design verification activities.
- Maintain part numbers, revisions, mechanical BOMs, and design files in an organized manner.
- Coordinate with R&D;, Electronics, Production, Quality, and Purchase teams for design-related requirements.
- Support preparation and maintenance of design documentation in accordance with ISO 13485, procedures, work instructions, and document control requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech/ M.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field.

Experience: 0–2 years in mechanical design, CAD modelling, drafting, or prototyping. Relevant academic or internship projects will also be considered. Freshers are welcome to apply.

Skills & Attributes

- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and mechanical components.
- Hands-on working knowledge of CAD tools — Autodesk Fusion 360 and AutoCAD preferred; experience in SolidWorks also considered.
- Basic understanding of 2D drawings, dimensioning, and tolerances.




- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, sheet metal, machining, and plastic moulding.
- Basic understanding of engineering materials and their selection.
- Awareness of mechanical BOMs, part numbers, and revision control.
- Positive communication, coordination, and vendor follow-up skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel.
- Self-motivated, organized, willing to learn, and able to work with cross-functional teams.

Compensation: As per market standards and based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role.

Incentives: Performance-based incentives may be considered.

Internship Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension or further opportunity based on performance.

Joining: Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period are preferred.
