Role Description The Marathi ↔ English Interpreter will provide accurate, real-time interpretation between Marathi and English in an on-site setting in Mumbai. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating communication during meetings, interviews, and client interactions; ensuring meaning, tone, and context are preserved; and asking clarifying questions when needed to maintain accuracy.

The interpreter will prepare by reviewing relevant background materials, maintain confidentiality, and follow professional ethics and standards. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Mumbai,



requiring flexibility to support scheduled and occasional urgent assignments.

Qualifications

- Strong bilingual proficiency in Marathi and English, with clear, qualified spoken communication in both languages.
- Proven interpretation skills, including consecutive or simultaneous interpreting, with attention to tone, context, and cultural nuances.
- Ability to quickly understand subject matter, ask clarifying questions, and convey information accurately and neutrally.
- Good listening, concentration, and memory skills to handle real-time communication in dynamic environments.
- Basic written translation skills for short documents, notes, or summaries related to interpreted sessions.
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct when working with clients and sensitive information.
- Comfort working on-site in Mumbai, with reliable time management and punctuality for scheduled assignments.
- Prior experience in interpretation, customer-facing roles, or language services is an advantage; relevant training or certification in interpreting or linguistics is preferred.
